I guess I don’t have to introduce Orkut to you? But do you know the top communities in Orkut? That is the communities with most number of people as members.

And do have any idea about the famous communities in each metro of India?

Here are the answers for the above questions.

You may have probably heard of Google zeitgeist before. Zeitgeist means ‘the spirit of  times’ which studies the user trends on a regular basis, that is from the searches made by  users on Google websites.

Now Google has done the same study and this time exclusively for Orkut India.

This is not the study of any search trend or anything similar but just an analysis of what the youth of India are doing most on Orkut.

Here is what the Study revealed:

The top community on Orkut India is ‘StYllsH PeOpLe’ followed by India, Chocolate, MTV and still more MTV, TCS 2009 Batch, Tom and Jerry cartoon, Boys Vs Girls (Who is the best?), Indian stock market, Tamil cinema, I hate to wake up early and Friends complete the list of top 10.

One BIG surprise community in that list of top 10 is the TCS 2009 Batch. How many offer letter did TCS give for the 2008-09 batch?

Guess what is the top Application for Girls Exclusively?

No, it’s not Lipsticks, beauty and stuff but this can be inferred from those. It’s Stylish font’s and text’s.

And boys? Will you ever stop chatting?

It’s ‘Chat’ that is buzzing the boys on Orkut with 3 other SMS and texting app’s being in the top 10 App’s of Boys choice.

The study also tells the top community for the big metros like Delhi loves to be stylish where as Mumbaikars like the Marathi Girls. Hyderabadis love their Telugu cinema and Kolkata people are proud to be Bengali’s.
