Free email forwarding to moblie via SMS

March 16, 2009 · Article by Sriraj · 2 Comments

If your mobile service provider is Airtel then you may have seen Ezmail service in their Airtel live service. It can be used to receive all your emails (Gmail,Yahoo mail, Hotmail etc) in your mobile phone. It’s trial first service where you are allowed to test the service for 1 month. It works fine till that point but after that, iyou’ll be charged Rs.50 every month to use the service. If you’re thinking Rs.50 is bit too much, here is a new Brand which is exactly developed to solve your problem. Unlike Airtel’s Ezmail, this service from Mobee can be used in any network and what’s even better is, it doesn’t need a GPRS enabled mobiles. It works even on the cheapest of the cheapest mobile phones that your dad may have buyed for you. It sends all your emails as SMS to your mobile so that you don’t miss out any important emails.

So how does this work?

The idea behind this pretty simple. You first have to register for an account at Mobee.in. By which you get a free email ID at Mobee.in domain which will be <yourmobilenumber>@Mobee.in. After your ID is created you simply have to do the email forwarding task from your Gmail or Yahoomail or whatever mail you use.

Does it cost anything?

Yes it does. No it doesn’t. Read on.

It also has a 1 month free trial service where you will be in Silver plan, which is one of their 3 plans in which you get 10 emails per day with 480 characters per email. You can read, send, reply during this free service. After the free 1 month service you’ll be charged Rs.30 plus applicable taxes if you wish to continue. If you wish to receive unlimited emails per day, the service cost is Rs79 per month plus applicable taxes.

There is also a free service even after the free trial period where you’ll be only receiving 3 email alerts per day. If you’re good at filtering bad emails from important emails using filters or labels, you can well use this service for free and yet don’t miss an important mail.

I’ve registered today and let me see how it goes. You too can give a try and there is no harm in doing that since you can opt out on any day if you wish.

To signup you need to send and SMS as SIGNUP and send it to 9845498454.

In reply you’d get your Mobee.in email ID after which you can set up email forwarding in your email provider.

Alternative you also can signup on their website. Head here to signup for free trial on Mobee.in.

You can also try this method to get completely free email alerts on mobile.
