Yahoo mail, the worlds largest free email service provider can now be accessed right from your Desktop without touching your browser and what’s more, you can access it while offline too.
Ok, there are few desktop clients like Outlook and thunder bird but we all know how sluggish they’ll be when the mailboxes are bit bigger.
So here is a Desktop application for Yahoo called Zimbra (which is also a Yahoo product, Yahoo took over Zimbra few years back). The application is a bit bulky at 48MB but rest assure that every MB of it worth downloading (it doesn’t work if you miss a MB anyway
)
With Zimbra, you can access/maintain your emails, contacts and calendar under one roof. It works with Yahoo mail, Gmail, AOL like a gem besides the ability to add any POP or IMAP email account.
If there are any addresses in the emails then the application quickly locates that address using Yahoo Maps. Detects your location and gives you the ability to find the points of interest with Yahoo Local.
If there are any Hyperlinks to any webpage, you can simply view a thumbnail of the page without having the trouble of visiting the webpage.
The application can store unlimited number of emails and there’s absolutely no restriction on the email size too.
As said above, you can use the application while you are offline and any emails sent during that time will be stored in the Outbox and will be immediately sent when you are next connected to the Internet.
You can download the Desktop Application from here.

Quite useful, thanks for letting me know about this.
