Blogger blogs being deleted.Should you be worried?

by Sriraj on April 26, 2009

‘My Blogger Blog has been deleted’, is what I’m hearing very frequently these days. It looks like Google is on a mission to clean up some useless blogs. Often we find users creating blogs and writing a single post and forget about it. Also some people try to cash in with some fancy domain names (Sub-domains) and finally give up the task running out of content. They should be probably concerned with the existence of their blogs.

But the problem I read in Blogger forums is that some active blogs were too deleted or disappeared and the owner claims that he has not done anything against the blogger TOS .Blogger

So should you be worried about the existence of your blog?

The answer from my side would be a simple No.

The first thing you’ll need to be clear on is whether your blog is disabled or deleted. There is a difference between the two. If your blog is disabled, it will be mentioned in your blogger dashboard and you’ll not be able to access your blog admin area. There will also be a link to question the disabling action and ask to review your blog. Your blog may then be reviewed by the Blogger team and be brought back to normal state. You will have a grace period, probably 2 weeks from the date of disabling in which you could ask for a review. Neglecting which, the blog will be deleted completely.

On the other hand if your blog is deleted, it may be due to a policy violation, which in most cases be related to the post content or a copyright infringement.

Please read this Blogger content policy to be sure that you did not violate any rule that was stated.

If you’re sure that you didn’t violate any rule including copyright issues, you can contact Blogger for further assistance.
