Providing original movies online for free is nothing new, YouTube has movies section and Yahoo too, has its own MoviePlex. But YouTube also has dedicated channels of various original content providers (TV Channels) that deliver their content for free to users. Following this trend, Yahoo today announced its ‘Videos’ service where users can watch TV channel content for free.
Deals have been made with channels such as NDTV, Star TV, Headlines Today, PVR pictures and 35 other channels to provide their telecasted content online (no live tv, yet).
Users can watch these videos for free. Revenue through ads will be shared between Yahoo and the Content providers (Channels).
The videos are categorized into News, Entertainment, Lifestyle and Movieplex.
