You already have many ways to watch legal movie streams online. Leading the pack is obviously Google’s YouTube Movie service. Then there is Reliances’ BigFlix, with whom Airtel has partnered recently. While all the movies that are available to Indian viewers in YouTube movies are free, it’s not the case with BigFlix. You can watch some for free, and buy others to watch online or rent DVD to home.
Now, here’s another service wanting a share of your movie bound eyeballs. Yahoo has officially launched its Movieplex service where you can stream movies legally for free. No notable movies are available at present, apart from Rock On, Dil toh Baccha Hai Ji but the company has said that it is talks with more producers to make their films available on their platform. Perhaps, it would have been better deferring the service launch until few hit films are made available. Sure they might add them some day, but people may forget that there’s one Yahoo Movieplex by that day; just saying.
Ohh, and if you’re first time in to this Online movie streaming thing, do keep a check on your Internet plan, especially if it’s a limited one (or even Unlimited one but limited by speed after certain usage) since streaming a complete movie in good quality will consume ‘a lot’ of bandwidth.
