I know there’s also Idea Netsetter but apparently people have completely forgotten about the product as they cannot see any advertisements on it from Idea. But where is Vodafone in this field? I was sure that Vodafone also had some Wireless Internet plans but why aren’t people talking about it?
Just a look at the Vodafone website, and I quickly understood what the reason was. It only had two plans and both of them were hopeless.
The Vodafone USB stick modem can be purchased at Rs.2599 (Rs.3099 for Mumbai and Maharashtra circle).
The two plans were Rs.499 and Rs.699 in which the first one gives 500MB of free data and the second one gives 1GB.
Extra data will be charged at 5p/10KB.
This USB Modem will use the Vodafone EDGE network that is said to be at least 3 times faster than the traditional GPRS network. If EDGE network isn’t available in your area, normal GPRS speeds will be available.
The same is available as Vodafone 3G USB stick which costs Rs.5499 (Rs.6599 for Mumbai and Maharashtra circle). But Apparently 3G isn’t yet available in India, so I assume this also works in same speeds as the normal EDGE USB stick.
