Unlimited Mobile Internet, Now with Uninor too

After Reliance, which announced their Unlimited Mobile Internet plans recently, it seems as though Uninor too wants to have some share in the data market (I wonder if this is what they are calling ‘Ab mera Number Hai’ ?). If you are a Uninor customer, here are its Unlimited GPRS plans for mobiles (yes, you can connect it to your laptop and browse the Internet):

MyConnect 9: Get 60MB of Data for Rs.9 with a validity of 3 days.

MyConnect 90: Get up to 3GB of Data for Rs.90 with a validity of 30 days.

Post free data usage, a charge of 10ps/10kb will be levied in both the plans.

3 Reason’s why this is better than Airtel

Lower Price: Airtel’s Unlimited Mobile Internet plan costs Rs.98 per month and the lowest plan is Rs.24 that lasts for 5 days. With Uninor, the monthly plan costs Rs.90 and the lower plan costs Rs.9 with 3 days validity.

More Data: Airtel’s RC 98 only gives 2GB of Data where as Uninor gives 3 GB of Data. When it comes to the chhota plan, Airtel’s Rs.24 plan gives 200MB while Uninor gives 60MB for Rs.9 (calculate yourself what this projects to for Rs.24 with 5 days validity. I’m really poor at Maths)

More Speed: Airtel is an old boy and its network is pretty cramped all the time. If you need good speeds using Airtel GPRS, better use it in the night or early in the morning (see this post on what speeds you can reach with Airtel GPRS). Uninor, being a new player should have plenty of unused network. Hence you may see similar speeds, regardless of the time of the day.

Bonus with Uninor

What’s even better with Uninor’s Unlimited Mobile Internet plans is that you will not be charged a single paisa if you browse Social Networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Finally, say loudly ‘Ab Mera Number Hai’.

Update 2013: While all other operators have increased their tariff’s for mobile data packs, Uninor is single such operator which has decreased. Airtel, Vodafone, Tata Docomo, Idea all offer just 1GB for (around) Rs.100 recharge. Uninor, on the other hand offers 3GB mobile internet for just Rs.89 with a validity of 28 days. Remember Uninor doesn’t have a 3G license, so whenever you hear Data with Uninor, by default it is on 2G network.

It’s been a long time since I wrote about a BSNL service. The company is …

  1. Yes uninor is good.

  2. thank you mr. sonu n filip i used the aircel but its speed was very poor and slow. So now i using the tata docomo it’s speed is very fast so everybody should use tata docomo

  3. Ranajit Chakraborty

I use Uninor GPRS in my laptop.

  4. now i m in orissa.yaha pe airtel to chor company h .maine 98 ka recharg kiya or 1 gb data mila jo 24 ghante me hi bina use kiye gayab ho gaya.i was shocked.balance ke liye recharge karaya to pura balance kat liya customer care ko call kiya to jawab mila ki aapne ye ye service act ki h apni man marji kar rahe hai airtel wale inse i m using aircel with good speed and unlimited in 98.

  5. i am user of airtel last 3 year but can’t bit any plan like airtel it’s wonderful plan have and its internet plan is too good , i was used aircel , reliance bsnl but no satisfy to service like airtel.

  6. i had used the internet services of all major operators,i am in kerala…on my personal experience tata docomo is very fast at past 2 months that time i get around 32KBPS download speed(multiple download gets even more)…but now it’s just like airtel very poor around 5KBPS..IDEA’s internet service is constant and get around 30KPS(BUT all are costly plans)…now i am using UNINOR and t often gets disconnected but gets speed around 15KBPS(multiple download makes connection failure)..

  7. From my experience of a long period, I did not think that no other operators can defeat Tata Docomo in Kerala. This is because of that, Tata Docomo provides a browsing speed of 20-40kbps, downloading speed of 19-28kbps and an uploading speed of 13-17kbps always. In night, especially after 12:30am Tata Docomo provides a browsing speed of 32-48kbps and downloading speed of 20-27kbps. An image of 1mb can be uploaded in a couple of seconds. In all ways Tata Docomo is the King of the country, Aircel is like the Minister and all the other operators are like slaves.

  8. In West Bengal Telecom circle Uninor gives 6GB data Usage on the recharge of Rs 90/-, and The speed is also good almost 25 KBps but from 6PM to midnight the speed is too low. But remaining time of the day the speed is amazing!! Here only Uninor gives this amazing speed…So Uninor is rocking!! But it has some limitations, it can not open some sites as because of strong firewall of uninor! But sometimes it opens so it is not its overall strategy!! If you want access point name here it it……’uninor’. So enjoy with Uninor!

  9. Means the sites of facebook n twitter r free without d plan in Uninor???? howizz it in Mumbai??

  11. Does it opens only the WAP sites Or all normal web pages As accessed on computer (HTML)

    • Mobile Internet has nothing to do with WAP or HTML. It just gives you a Data plan with an Access Point. You can open any website, WAP, HTML, XHTML, XML etc..

  12. is this plan available for mumbai maharashtra

  13. uninor is getting better and better. The speed of internet has been quite good, the free browsing of facebook makes it more better.

  14. Uninor is the best network for Internet. 3GB is more than enough for me

  15. Uninor signal is very week in Hyd. I most get disconnection. I don’t know how will gprs work in this area

  16. Thank you raghav, I did not know mobile internet plan was thee in Uninor.I took a airtel connection 2 months ago to get mobile internet but now will use uninor for it
