Tikona Broadband services review

Tikona Digital Networks is yet another Broadband service provider in India (see Beam tele Broadband), that is built using the 4th Generation OFDM wireless technology. Don’t get overwhelmed by that since we are yet to see full fledge 3G in the country (forget 4G for now). Like any other player, Tikona also has limited plans (with circuit breakers) and also unlimited plans.

There’s absolutely nothing new or fancy about the tariff plans. Having said that, all the limited plans have a speed of 2mbps which is very good (that is up to their ISP).

The base plan starts from Rs.299 a month which gives 1000MB of free data.

Other plans are as follows:

Rs.449 plan gives free data of 1500MB

Rs.549 plan gives free data of 2500MB

Rs.999 plan gives free data of 5000MB

Rs.1249 plan gives free data of 7000MB

Any extra usage over the free data will be charged at Rs.0.80/MB except for the base plan (Rs.299 plan) for which the charge is Rs.1/MB.

The installation charges for all the plans is Rs.500 and a one time deposits of Rs.300, 500, 500, 1000 and 1500 has to paid respectively (from base plan to max plan in that order)

Unlimited plans tariff

Come unlimited plans and you’ll have to choose between the speeds that you need. The base plan starts from Rs.649/month which gives a speed of 300kbps.

Rs.899/month plan gives a speed of 600kbps and Rs.1249/month plan gives a speed of 1000kbps.

Installation charges of Rs.500 (one time) are extra for all plans.

You can also choose to pay annually, where the unlimited plan costs Rs.6000/yr which gives a speed of 300kbps.

Few good things that I like

  • There is a clear ‘Guaranteed maximum bill amount’ for the Limited plans which shows the service’s openness.
  • There will not be any Modem rental for any plan.
  • You get a free wifi router so that you can use the broadband from any where in your house without the fuss of wires.

tikona is waste n waste service provider in world…plz dont go tikona broadband ..1st day it work nicely .. next day ramnaamsatiyahai….tikonacare is not working n fax nos tooo…..waste internet service is called tikona….

Never think about worst Tikona service!
Already I have too many problem with service since installation,
e.g. Connection Document Lost, Not Installed primary tikona s/w, cable provide just 4 feet, Customer care badly response as same on every comlaints, nodal officer also as same as others, 150 times called to customer care within 3 months, even mail 20 times to get start my service even I have Zero due at that time.
Requested for cable connection to customer care 10 times,
Given me 695 Rs Wrong bill and suspended my serivce after 3 months waiver 650 Rs.
Now calling 25 times for loging issue but still those stupid guys are reply me as ‘your issue will resolved withib 24 hrs.’ But after 3 months they have been giving same reply as above.
You can take tikona service for below benefits:
1) you want to increase your headache.
2) you have to lost your money with temper.
3) Time wastage on low speed and frequently got dissconected.
4) wrong billing, even billing dept. don’t know about your service is in working state or not. they charge for month as it is.
if you couldn’t trust me!
You can try it! No problem !

tikona internet is vary good . I have used many internet like as airtel BSNL tata etc.but tikona is vary faster than other. Tikona provide vary low price and give faster service and good service . I am suggesting to all people when the tikona instrument take minimum 40% signal then you should take tikona connection otherwise not

Hi Readers,

I had a really worst experience by opting for Tikona service.
My connection is not working from the Day 1 of installation, and daily i spend 20-30 mins on calling customer care and checking the status of my complaint. Till now (more than 10 days), nobody had attended my issue. Every day i get a response saying “Our service engineer will visit your place soon as possible”. but it never happend.

So guys, pls never opt for Tikona service. Else you’l also a victim like me.

Dear Sir/Madam
I, Varinder Kumar , is a customer of your internet services division/Broadband/WIBRO service. My customer no. is 1101480372. I have subscribed for XFUL849 plan after much persuasion by your representative and with an assurance that under this particular plan the services are best as this plan is being sold as corporate plan along with a static IP.

The issues started from the day one itself , when no body came to install the router for five days, than after few days the service broke down. The complaint was attended on 3rd day and at that time only I was told about the installation of some Nano station at my roof. Anyway it worked fine for a week and now again the connectivity is so poor that even your ‘www.tikona.in’ is not being displayed in the browser. I have logged the complaint at least thrice(1-670711017 , thrice it has logged, another one is 1-681482883) but not a single time it has been sorted out though the commitment of unbreakable service was made at the time of sale of this particular plan to me.
This is a complete breach of trust and harassment of a customer.
Further while I call up your customer care number for logging a complaint , they try their best to issue the same complaint number so that the number of complaints can be kept low, a strategy probably to please seniors and boast of good services and avoid law.

I have just completed one painful month suffering from slow connectivity and many a times no connectivity at all. The issues are never sorted out. With this mail of mine I hereby request you to direct your personnal to sort out the issues at the earliest. If it is not possible for your employees/service engineers to stick to commitments made to a customer w.r.t plans sold to them, I request you to kindly discontinue my services immediately and refund my balance amount.

KINDLY TREAT THIS MAIL AS URGENT SO THAT I MAY BE ABLE TO SHIFT TO ANOTHER SERVICE PROVIDER AS MY WORK IS SUFFERING BECAUSE OF BAD INTERNET SERVICE.

First i was using a 75 kpbs plan….. then i thought of changing to tikona i took 512 kpbs plan and i used it for 1 day it was dam slow.. 75 kpbs was very fast than that

This tikona guy came for demo it never worked for 1 hour then he tells me some network problem n my house is in odd position HAHAHAHAHA said they will put up some antenna to make it work then he turned up after few days for another demo n guess what………….u gussed it right it never happened.wirted is the best so now went for mtnl they have really improved in services since years back i had disconnected itn now back with it iam satisfied guys.
decent price n speed 515rs for 356 kbps with free tele land line!

I suppose, i made a hasty decision to take up this service. Earlier i did not know abt tikona’s profile in the market i swear i wouldn’t have gone for it. Now i am planning to switch to some another ISP but still i got no idea where do i switch. i have a very deep request to all of the above commentators, that if u folks can recommend me some another ISP kindly email me some good names to my ID: sameer_bms@yahoo.com. “TIKONA sucks”. now i feel like not to pay up-coming bills. Anyways, gotta use it unless i find something else which suits my needs. Many thanks to this website which let us put our opinion across to our so-called providers. Tikona ki jai ho.

MTNL is the only best service after all i have used they have a very prompt online service on 1504 i have unlimited plan of 356 kbps i pay 515 per month with landline free with it.its good enough with decent speed n price.

Nahi no problem. Do one thing. ASk them for Take Cash don’t pay them Cheque. They dont’ have option for cash. But In India there is no rule that u have to pay only Cheque. So enjoy……

I will recomend do not use tikona wi bro, they gives very poor services.
tikona is giving 2 to 5 kbps speed while my gprs mobile is giving better speed than Tikona up to 15 to 20 kbps in pune
I am one of the threaten person.
they gives very poorest service, unprofessional call center which is not knowing anything.

Tikona is the worst internet provider.
Request never opt for tikona service.
Worst customer server.
Net Plan of 2 GB does not have speed more 100 kb.
Complaints fall on deaf dears.

My connection was installed on 20.4.2010 even. Great thing : From next day 21.4.2010, my connection is not working or very slow speed. Complaint has been raised but nothing happened. They say that the technical will visit within 24 hrs. Till 26.4.2010 night, neither the service started nor a techical visited.

Tikona service is the worst.
Tikona is just cheating the customers.

But I did one thing, I got this in writing from their representative that if I am not going to get proper speed for 10 days, my money will be refunded and I will not pay any bill.
Well they provided connection on 8th March and Viola!! it was working fine until engineer was there.
He left and took speed with him too and I started getting speed between 28-145 kbps for my 300 kbps plan.

Well I raised the first complain on 9th itself and they send their engineer Ahmed with some crappy Antenna, he put it over there and talked to someone on phone (later told to be local technical team) and told me that I am getting low signals (20-28% max), and he will talk to his superiors to increase the signal strength. Actually he was a nice guy, who seemed to be trapped with this company and told me that sir, if you do not get signals even after putting antenna, please talk to our customer care for disconnection.

But i decided to bear it for few more odd days and keep on taking screenshots of their speedtest.
But no miracle happened (Unlucky me!!!)
And from 26th March onward, I started raising several complains a day and was advised by Customer care guy to wait for 48 hr (as if he is going to cast some magical spell and turn things around), I waited but keep them bugging from time to time but nothing happened.

Again raised a complain on 28th and send those screenshots to nodal offices and compliant officer. And yeah in mean time, I got my Bill too, which is of 1023.00 (where as i have taken 599 plan and used it for 18 days and the bill should be 400rs only), Called customer care, they are confused as usual

Till 4th nothing happened!!

Then decided that its enough!!!

I wrote a mail to them, that I want a disconnection and my money and documents back!! And called customer care again and got following replies!!
1. Sir, your complaint is in progress.
2. Sir, it would be handled in 48 hours. (Dude!! its more than 120 hr already 96 hours, Go get a life man)
3. Sir, I am really sorry, engineer would be there by 6PM (Dont give me shit!!!!)

Till yesterday nothing!!!
I had some very important work to do and there was speed of 48 kbps, so i decided
to give them the beating of their lifetime.
Called customer care and he started the same thing, Sir, We understand your problem and all that
I told him to shut the F#&K up and listen to me!
Then I told them, I want my money and documents back
CC guy: Sir first you have to pay your bills
Me: Bill for what?? 30 kbps?? how much it is 50 rs or60 rs??, Well i am not going to give you a single penny
CC: Sir I will take that request and a person will come to collect the router in a week time
Me: Dude, I will return the router when i will get my money back!!
CC: Sir!!!
ME: Yeah, mention that and from now onwards I dont want any communication > pay back my money and take your crappy router away!!

And this made me happy!!!

Now I am planing for BEAM tele (offereing 786 kbps @600)!!

You cannot rely on the new comers. Why not try Airtel or BSNL? Or do you already have similar experiences with them?

i`m usin TIKONA since feb 2010. installation took 20days.. my Id was not activated even after that. it took more 3 days. Service worked for 12 days. After that, speed problem. i was gettin ONLY 54-74kbps where i was payin for 149kbps. I`m in touch wid the TECHNICAL HEAD of tikona (for my area i.e. pune city) and even he is not responding to my complaints. i`m really really fed up with tikona. people, a genuine suggestion–> PLZ dont buy TIKONA.

Y this people are fooling I dont understand. The speedtest meter will show 100md speed and the next day it will drop to 10kb wat the heck man.

My self Manoj kumar, and I am lived in Lodhi Road complex. I decided to take internet connection of tikona wi bro on 1st Feb 2010,and I meet with tikona executive and I given payment for installation of tikon wi bro. After 20 days (after so many times tikona customer care) tikona engineers given connection to me and they attached a instrument called nano on my top of my building, then after calling so many times to tikon customer care, I Finally goted user id and password to acess the internet on 10 March means after 20days. Then I feeled that downloading speed is very slow it is 3 to 5 kbps (for 300kbps speed) and internet is only working 2 to 4 hours in a day. Then, I registered a complaint regarding this problem on 12th March but till 18th march (after daily calling tikona customer care) no any engineer comes for solving my problem and they not given any solution to me.
So friends I finally decided to terminate tikona wi bro net connect on 18th March. so take care before joining tikona wi bro net connect, I am threaten by tikona wi bro.

same problem here…once i call customer care and complaint that i get very slow speed at night time..they told me that at night time there is network traffic as lot of people used it….wat a crappy explaination it was…now i had applied for disconnection for 1 month before..they havent collected the modem yet…i dont know wat they will say nxt…tikona means one serious headache…
