So here are the first looks at the 3G tariff from a private player, Tata Docomo. If you’ve put BSNL 3G aside, since it looked so hefty, you’ll probably not find these plans attractive too. But, it is almost certain that BSNL (and Tata Docomo) will decrease their tariffs, even if they are only slightly, once all the players enter the arena next year. Till then these are the various tariff’s of Tata Docomo 3G.
The least cost plan I can see is Rs.350. You get 500 Local and STD minutes, 150 MB data with 30 days validity.
Rs.500 plan: 750 local and STD minutes, 250 MB Data with 30 days validity
Rs.750 plan: 1250 local and STD minutes, 500MB Data with 30 days validity
Rs.1000 plan: 2000 local and STD minutes, 1GB Data with 30 days validity
Rs.2000 plan: 5000 local and STD minutes, 2GB Data with 30 days validity
Calls will continue to be as ‘per second billing’.
Voice call charges are reduced from the normal 1 ps/sec (as in 2G) to 0.66 ps/sec.
Video calls will be charged at 10ps/sec and it remains the same for Incoming Video calls when you are Roaming.
Don’t even try to compare these 3G data plans to 2G Data plans where you are currently enjoying 6GB Data for a mere Rs.95 per month. But one good thing here, post the free 3G Data usage ends (11 November), you can continue to enjoy 2G Data plan at 3G Speed, that is, the Rs.95 plan for 6GB will now be at 3G Speeds, for 1 month.
