For those of you who are enjoying Airtel’s Mobile Office service at 30ps/ 50KB without subscribing to any pack such as this Rs.98/ month Data plan, this notice is for you. Starting January 5, 2011, Airtel is increasing its Mobile Office Data charges from 30ps/ 50KB to 30ps/ 20KB. That’s more than 100% rise in tariff.
Also, if you didn’t observe already, surfing Airtel Live using airtellive APN, which used to be free till date is now being charged at the same rate as with Mobile Office APN (30ps/ 20KB), since 28 December 2010.
However, the Data pack of 2 GB for Rs.98 will not be affected by this tariff change. So users with this data plan need not worry about this tariff hike until their monthly usage doesn’t go over 2GB.
Is this some set-up for 3G launch or something that will be followed by other operators, only time will tell.
airtel’s proposed increase in browsing tariff is retrograde. it should rather be the other way round.I trust airtel will revise its new tariff

Sir,
Right now am using blackberry airtel BIS rate plan Rs:899/permonth. They offered unlimited browsing, upload and download.

My contact no:919500942525
For Rs.299 you get Unlimited Personal emails and IM. Unlimited Office exchange emails and Browsing (including unlimited personal emails and IM) come only with the plan which you are currently subscribed to, Rs.899 per month.
If you don’t use Office emails (such as those on Exchange servers), you may subscribe to Rs.399 plan, where you can get Unlimited personal emails (like Gmail, Yahoo etc), IM and browsing.
Airtel’s proposed increase in browsing tariff is retrograde. It should rather be the otherway round. I trust Airtel will revise its new tariff.
