After the T20 cricket season, it’s back to the ODI fever for cricket fans in India. The 7 ODI series is being sponsored by Hero Honda and hence named Hero Honda Cup 2009. As one of my uncle works for Hero Honda India, I managed to get 15 tickets for the match against Australia in Hyderabad on November 5 (See Update below)
I’m sure to go the match and so are 3-4 of my friends. In any case, I’ll have at least 10 tickets to give away.
If you want to grab one of those tickets, for free, all you have to do is say in least possible words, ‘why you deserve a ticket?’ in the comments section (only one person per entry and one ticket each)
(Tip: Registered fan of Deccan chargers may have an advantage)
Be sure to put in the correct email address in the field provided as all communication will be made through email. Depending on the number of entries, I will select at least 10 best entries and contact them at their email addresses.
(The delivery of tickets will be mostly made at the Stadium on the match day)
If you want to buy the tickets yourself, you can do the same by visiting the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad.
Unfortunately, no online gateway is available as yet to book your tickets. The links for the same will be available (if at all there are any) at the latest.
P.S. I badly hope that the fate of Deccan chargers isn’t passed onto the Indian side and wish to see them as Winners on November 5th.
Update: The tickets for the match on November 5 will be on sale on November 2 and 3rd at UCO bank branches in SD Road (Sec’bad), Kukatpally, Sanath nagar, Madhapur, Malakpet and Banjara hills. Each person will only be eligible for 2 tickets.
Ticket prices to start from Rs.300 (8207 tickets) for eastern stand, Rs.600 (8246 tickets) for western stand, Rs.1000 (3105 tickets) for Far end terrace (best view of the ground in my opinion), Rs.1500 (991 tickets) for far end first floor, Rs.2000 (449 tickets) for far end ground floor, Rs.2000 (4510 tickets) for southern end terrace, Rs.4000 (1911 tickets) for southern end first floor and Rs.5000 (926 tickets) for Southern end ground floor.

my main concern is however about this forum itself…is this a genuine offer in the first place. why can’t you sell teh extra tickets that u ahve instead of giving them for freee. well any ways it doesn’t concern me , why ???? but as long as i am gettting my 3 tickets for the match . yestrday at delhi , the indians prooved once again that the home country always has an added advantage…and that is the crowd support. well yesterday i am sure that the delhi crowd after watching the first innings would have thought this was going to be aboring match and one sided one……but the indian innings was more interesting than that of the australian one. WELL I NEED 3 TICKETS TO THE 5TH ODI TO CHEER THE MEN IN BLUE. The very first cricket match i saw at a stadium was in 1999-2000 at L.B. STADIUM INDIA vs NZ ,where we scored 375 runs and won. Then the last time INDIA and aus played an odi here at hyderabad i was at the stadium and was really dissapointed to see INDIA loose the match although YUVI scored brilliantly and went down fighting .The Deccan chargers match vs delhi dare devils where virender sehwag thrashed us and was again dissapointed. NOw that INDIA have gained momentum and are in a winnning mind set and are as ferocious as they can be after their last win of 99 runs , i think the ODI at uppal WILL be the ” MATCH ” of the series to watch out for and the UPPAL stadium that is decorated with the state of the art facilities and perfect ground and pitch .WOW can’t wait to get into the stadium on match day. Hi, I want to see the home team to win at least once in this ground. what all matches the home team played here they have lost the match. Deccan Chargers lost all 9 matches they played on this ground and then India too lost all the matches played on this ground. I am sure INDIA will win this time. i am neither a registered fan of deccan chargers nor a kind who has seen many matches in the stadium.But none can beat me if u test me about my knowledge on Indian cricket n cricketers……..i am so crazy about cricket that i skipped my 10th class excursion vit my friends jst to wach test mach between india and australia in chennai in the yaer 2004 oct.Unfortunately the last day was abandonned due to rain.n v had cmplete chnce of winning as v had to hit just 119 or so on that day with 9wickets in hands…………….this can just prove my respect and interest in cricket………………….

I was so disappointed to see DC loose to TT in CLT20 that I didn’t get out my seat in the stadium for over 1 hour after the match. The security personnel came and asked us to leave the stadium. If given a chance, I’ll come to stadium with my DC baggy cap and Jersey of the RP singh.

I’m Guru Nandan aged 59 staying at Kukatpally.There’s one more year for my retirement. But who cares? I consider my self as a retiree only on that day when I’ll be unable to watch a match Live that India is playing in Hyderabad. My boss screws me every time I miss the office for seeing the match, either live in the stadium or on TV at home. But again, who cares? As long as I can see cricket, no worries at all. I’ll not say that I have been to all matches that India played at LB Stadium, but I’ve been to most of them and I also take my whole family along with me every time. But this time, I need your help badly.
