Tamilnadu public service invites application for the posts of Motor Vehicle Inspector, Grade-II.
Total number of vacancies is expected to be 65,
Scale of pay: Rs.5,500-175-9,000/- per mensem.

Date of written exam: 24.05.2009, 10 A.M to 1 P.M
- Above 21 years but below 32 years of age as on 1.7.2009.
- No maximum age limit for SCs, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs(Other than BCMs), BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes, who have passed PTC/PUC/HSC/Diploma/Degree.
- Candidates not belonging to SCs, STs, MBC/DCs and BCs(Other than BCMs), BCMs (i.e. others) who have put in five years of service in the State/Central Government are not eligible to apply even though they are within the age limit.
Minimum general educational qualifications as described in the detailed notifications and
A Diploma in Automobile Engineering (3 years course) or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (3 years course) awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamilnadu and
Experience of having worked for a period of not less than one year both on vehicles fitted with Petrol Engines and Vehicles fitted with Diesel Engines on a full time basis in an Automobile workshop which undertakes repairs of Light Motor Vehicles, Heavy Goods Vehicles and Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicles and
Must hold a Driving Licence Authorising him to Drive Motor Cycle. Heavy Goods Vehicles and Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicles and
Must have experience in Driving Heavy Transport Vehicles for a period of not less than six months.
Selection will be made through a written test followed by an oral test (interview).
Written test will be for 3 hours duration and will contain questions on any one of the following sections:
Automobile engineering (code no. 015) or
Mechanical engineering (code no. 075).
Maximum marks will be 300 and minimum marks for selection for SC/ST/MBT/DC/BC’s(Other than BCM’s will be 102 and for others it is 136.
Application forms can be obtained from all head post offices in Tamilnadu by paying an amount of Rs.100 as the exam fee and obtain the postal receipt of payment.
The application form cost is Rs.30
After filling the application form, all the required certificates should be attested and sent to the commission’s address before the last date.
Candidates can also apply online at www.tnpsc.gov.in but pay an amount of Rs.130 and get the postal receipt of the required denomination.
