I have cleared IOB bank po written exams and my interview is on 27th of june
I am a science graduate with chemistry honours and have work experience of 4 yrs in small firms.
I want to know what questions can be asked to me in interview.

Reply

sriraj June 21, 2009 at 2:10 pm

Since you have work experience you can expect most of the questions to be from your previous roles in your office..
Also why do you want to come into banking industry having done your graduation in science.
And some general knowledge based questions

sir, you should make minimum qualification 60%. Because many universities has stringent marking systm like vinoba bhave university, calcutta university, ranchi university etc. many gfood students loose opportunities becaue of this . please mind over it.

hi Sriraj, i have applied for Syndicate Bank PO, which was advertised on March 21st, they are saying “list of shortlisted candidates is likely to be displayed in the Website after 2 months.”
My Question is whether is there any probability of getting a call in the month of June? because i have applied some other bank exams like Unites bank, Federal bank … etc…..which are conducting exams in june month, all most all sundays.
I am worrying whether my exam dates and this may conflict? please reply me.

Reply

sriraj May 14, 2009 at 7:23 am

All banking exams are conducted by IBPS, which is a banking personnel selection organisation. It takes care so that the dates do not match. Don’t worry.

I’ve answered for this question elsewhere in this blog.
Any way, it’ll be atleast 2 months for the results to be out. So you can expect them in either first or second week of June.

Kusum,
Your comment would have been answered if I were a bank personnel which is not the case. So anything which I say I say is purely a guess.
Since you have no work experience from 2005 they might ask you what were you doing all these years. questions on current economic situation will be asked with more priority given to India.

hi, i m devi. i saw the notification of indian bank for clerical post. exam date is 21-6-09, same day united bank’s po exam is there. centres for both are at different district. i m from kerala.
i wish to attend both. will any of them change exam date?

Reply

sriraj April 22, 2009 at 10:12 am

Ohh !! Is it? I’ve never observed that. Actually IBPS might not have been aware of that. Banks generally will have their exams on different days. So, although I cannot guarantee that one of the exam will be deferred, I encourage you to apply to both so that you get a chance to appear for both just in case something like that happens.

Wait for 30 march to pass by and if you still din’t get your call letter, you take take the email printout and also the payment receipt(just in case it’s needed) to the IOB Bank address given in the advertisement. Generally it’ll be the local head office in your city.

Reply

sriraj March 6, 2009 at 5:00 am

See, bank exams are not difficult at all. But the thing is, for say 1000 posts there will be atleast a 1 lk candidates competing. Thats where the difference comes in getting selected and not being so.
And coming to the english section, any banking english papers consists parts like sentence completion/correction, passages, sentence arrangement, antonyms etc..Its all basic stuff, nothing out of world.

Try applying on another day. IOB website had some problems the first few days when online application was opened. So this might be another case of a bug.
Keep an eye on the last date..

It’s your responsibility to double check the required qualifications before applying to any post and one cannot blame the branch persons for it..
As far as I know you cannot use those 400 Rs for any other recruitment test’s including those from IOB

As it was clearly mentioned in the advt that the required qualifications viz. a minimum of bachelors degree should be present as on 01.01.2009 (that is on or before 01.01.2009). So, you are not eligible for this recruitment Prachi but do not worry as there are many more bank PO advts to come in the near future. All the best.
