IOB PO exam, that is scheduled to be conducted on 5th of April is slightly different from other bank exams being conducted.
The traditional 75, 50, 50, 50 questions in reasoning, quant, English language and general awareness respectively is still maintained but the marks allotted to each section seems to be different. 75 questions in reasoning will be for 80 marks and 50 questions from quant and general awareness sections will be for 60 marks respectively. English language paper will have 50 questions and is only for qualification purpose and marks obtained in that section won’t be counted in making the merit list. The total time remained same at 2 hrs 15 mins. The candidate has to qualify in every section of the test with a minimum of 40% score, all sections combined (35% for reserved categories).
The descriptive paper will have 5 questions with internal options and a candidate has to answer all the five questions. Time allotted to this section is 60 mins and marks allotted are 100. Qualifying marks in this section is 40% of 100 marks which comes out as 40 marks (35 marks for reserved categories). Descriptive test is also qualifying in nature like English language paper and marks obtained in this section will not be counted.
Now to get qualified and to get a personal interview call letter a candidate has to satisfy the following , score atleast 80 marks in Reasoning, quant and general awareness combined with qualifying marks in each section separately and qualify in English language paper and descriptive paper and rank sufficiently high.
*The internal qualifying marks in individual sections will be decided by the bank seeing the performance of all candidates.
