The minimum educational qualification is as follows, you must have a Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or otherwise) with any one of the following as one of your subject Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry.
If you have any of the above subjects in your electronics curriculum, you should be eligible.

Hello Sir,
I have applied for the indian forest service exam which is going to be held in july 11 2009. yet now i ham not received any acknowledgement card from UPSC may i know when i will be getting it.
Acknowledgement cards are rarely received by the applicants. If you have your application number you can track your app status by visiting the UPSC website. But July 11 is still a long way away from now. So there is no need to worry as of now.
Sir, m appearing for the first time for IFS, I ve opted for Chemicl Engg. n maths, i want what notes shall i refer to for studying, especially for maths. I ve the syllabus for both the papers.
hello sriraj, from where can we get IFS previous question papers for mathematics and civil engg, onec if e see them we can have a clear idea fo the preparation
sir i got my acknowledgement card..nothing is written in office use column…is it ok sir? when will we get our hall ticket??
I dont know what should be there in the office column but what I can say it that ‘ a mere getting of acknowledgement card doesn’t mean that you are eligible for the test and will get the call letter’.
If you are eligible, you’ll surely get the call letter sometime.
i have choosen agri engg and forestry as opt, where could i get solved question paper
sir can we check online our application status?? if we fill up the form we will surely get the hallticket no??
Yes you can check your application status online. The link will be put up in the UPSC after 2 weeks from the last date of receipt of application.

IFS and CIVILS are two different exams. So this will be your first attempt.
sir..i am civil engineer..i am writing ths exam for first time..which educational code should i write?
I think it is clearly mentioned in the post.
Any way, its 01 if you already have a bachelors degree (atleast) and
02 if you are appearing for your bachelors degree.
Hope that helps.
