Career in Indian Air force, how to get into it?

There are many opportunities in the defense sector for people who think they belong there. For now, I’ll stress only on one part of Defense, The Indian Air force.
There are mainly 3 sections in Air force for which recruitments will be conducted every year, flying branch, Technical and Ground staff.
Flying branch:
This is for the posts of pilots in Air force. There are 3 ways to become a pilot.
- Through NDA exam conducted by UPSC. Students with a 10+2 standard are eligible to appear for this exam.
- Through CDS exam again conducted by UPSC. Students with a bachelor’s degree are eligible to appear to this exam. Nearly 2 lac people appear to this test every year and 20000 candidates will be selected for the next round of selection, the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT). Combined scores will be used to make the final merit list.
- Through NCC. Candidates with a ‘C’ certificate and with a graduate degree will be selected as regular commission officer. These candidates need not take the above exams but have to appear for an Interview conducted by SSB before being selected.
Technical branch:
There are two ways to get into the technical branch of Indian Air force.
- University entry scheme where students in their final year/pre-final year will be selected and sent to training. A notification will be announced every year to receive applications under this scheme.
- Direct entry scheme where students in the age group 18 to 28 years with a graduate degree are eligible to appear for a selection test.
Ground duty:
This can be split into logistics department and accounts departments.
Duties related to explosive materials, clothes, accessories and human resources are seen by the Logistics branch where as the budget works are done by the accounts branch.
The requirement for these branches varies and will be clearly mentioned in the advertisement when announced.
Apart from the above jobs there are other jobs like Airmen technical trade, mechanical transport driver trade, Airmen non-technical trade for which a 10+2 degree is the requirement.

hi.i completed 25 years on 21,Nov,2009.i did M.Sc in 2008 after that did M.Phil in 2010.however result is still awaited.i want to know is there any field in IAF left where I can apply for an officer rank.

I m already aware of the CDS examination and the ssc exam conducted by the air force and the navy however I do not fit in there as my age is 22yrs.
