Sir I got the following SMS today to my mobile ‘D2H Videocon ke tarafse apke mobile no pe apko diya jata hai D2H Videocon Setopbox with DVDPlayer bilkul free Login www.d2hadvertising.com Last date 20/06/2010’
When I went to that website it is once again asking for my mobile number which I entered. Then it says that registration is success and to get the free gift go to d2hadvertising once again. When I put in my mobile number once again, I got third SMS that I have to deposit some money in a bank account as service tax to get free Videocon D2H Set top box and DVD Player.
I also use Videocon mobile number and complained to Videocon customer care but they said they don’t know any thing about D2H services.
Is this true?

After looking around the Internet, it is clear that it isn’t you alone who is receiving such SMS. So from all angles this looks like yet another scam. Don’t take any step further (Don’t deposit the money asked for) and just forget it.

Thanks to everybody…….i also got same SMS by seeing that website videocond2hdishtv.com i thought really company doing such kind of campaigns but after entering to the internet only i came to know many people got similar SMSs

i have received sms and i deposited Rs. 440 to syndicate bank and fax to after some time syndicate bank call me and refunded thank you videocon for taking action immediately
Even I got SMS today. We can say that this is fake by observing at website. Its designed in PHP , having aceess to only one link. All other links ars showing as similar to original website , but none of then are working.And more over actual website designed in ASPX,which is working properly.
Ya I too got this sms of videocon but this is creating a bad image to the industry of videocon.videocon should take safety measures towards this kind of fake sms.
I WAS GETTING MASSAGES FROM VIDEOCON D2H BUT WHEN I ENTERED IN TO SITE ASKED ME MY MOBILE NO AND AFTER ACCESING SITETHEY ASK FOR NAME AND ADDRESS AND MOBILE NO FOR REGISTERING AFTER REGISTERING THE SITE RESPONDING THAT AFTER 48 HOUR YOU ARE GETTING REPLY BUT TILL DATE I HAVE NOT GETTING REPLY I THINK THIS WAS FAKE

When I received this SMS, initially I just ignored it. However, when I logged in the website, it claimed to deposit money, a sum of Rs. 440/-, in Syndicate Bank. I first of all called Videocon d2h customer service and they said NO SUCH scheme or offer is going on and the company (Videocon) has already started taking necessary steps against this.
However, I was NOT just satisfied by JUST complaining to Videocon group. I then called Syndicate Bank and informed them of this. They replied that they have NOT accepted money from any customers towards this and also have informed their head office, which is at Calcutta.
Later in the day while I was having lunch, I got another SMS, asking me to now deposit money in Andhra Bank as Syndicate Bank account was “under process”. I immediately called Andhra Bank and informed them too. They too told me they had 3 customers since today morning and have been kind enough NOT to accept money from any one and they too have informed their head office to take necessary action.
All in all, we need to take steps like this, being educated, and NOT just sit and ignore such scandals. I would urge everybody to be more alert henceforth and see that such scamsters and fraudsters are brought to book.
P.S. ….The executive claimed to be from Mumbai………The fax number to fax the receipt of money deposited is of Delhi………and Videocon is headquartered in Noida……. plus….he wanted the money in the form of tax (WHICH CANNOT BE THEN UNDER THE NAME OF ANY INDIVIDUAL)……..What more evidence should one ask for!…..JUST KEEP YOUR EYES WIDE OPEN…..!!!!
Fake….. Fake…… I too got this msg on 21st June. There might be some rules & Law which make imprisonment to all this criminals who are cheating us.

I got SMS to my mobile from this ‘www.d2hadvertising.com’ it is a fraudulent SMS don’t give any replay to this one. Just forget it.
