SCR RRB selection process for Track Man, Yard porter etc

SCR Railway Recruitment Cell, Secunderabad released a notification (Number: RRC/SCR/Group-D/1/2010)  few days ago for 8730 vacancies in various positions such as Track man, Yard Porter, Helper, Hamal, Safaiwala and Peon. The last date of receiving application forms is 14 February 2011 (28 February 2011 for applications from far flung states).

The selection process for all these posts will include a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written test, Verification of certificates and a Medical test.

Selected candidates will be paid in the scale of Rs.5200 – 20200 with a grade pay of Rs.1800.

The PET will consists of a 1500 Meters run which has to be completed under 6 minutes in one go. For women, it a 400 meter run that has to be completed in 3 minutes. PWD candidates are exempted from this test.

PET is only for Qualifying in nature and performance shown in this test will not be counted for Merit ranking. However, it is essential for all candidates to pass through PET to go to written test.

The written test will consists of simply questions printed in Hindi, English and any other languages the candidate has choose (such as Telugu, Urdu, Kannada, Marathi). This Syllabus and questions will be related to General Knowledge, General Awareness, Mathematics from 10 th standard and simple reasoning questions. There will be negative marking for wrong answers.

Successful candidates in the written test will be called for certificate verification. The final will be a brief medical check up after which, joining letters will be handed over to merit ranking candidates, strictly in the order of marks scored in written test.

Call letters (Hall tickets) will be sent to all candidates who’ve applied to the notification in the months of March/April 2011.
