Indian Idol 5 is finished and desirous singers are already looking for the next season, Indian Idol 6, which will probably start in the last quarter of next year (2011). So here are some tips on how to prepare yourself for the show.
Practice. Practice. Think as if ‘singing’ alone will take you to heights (note here that I said singing but not Indian Idol, which is just a platform). If you have a chance to learn classical music, please attempt to learn, that is sure to hone your sur and taal.
Be your own. Don’t try to be another xyz.
Audition dates will be announced well before the shoot begins, at least before 3 months. There will be multiple stages in Indian Idol Auditions. Register yourself well in advance and be prepared to go to the nearest city, if auditions are not scheduled in your place/city.
Tip: If there is no audition in your city, try visiting a place which is in the schedule but is less popular than others. For example, visit Bhopal instead of Mumbai, since you would have to deal with far less people and hence less strain.
Tip: Dress well. First impression always counts. Not only does it matter for the judges but for the entire Nation which is watching you on TV. Don’t over do anything.
Be patient: As you may have seen in the TV, the serpentine queues before the venue. Be patient till your chance arrives and be sure that you don’t run out of energy.
Keep the fear away (if any), and concentrate on singing, give your best and leave the rest to the judges.
Mostly, you should be through to the next round.
