There are many ways to tour Shirdi from the twin cities of Hyderabad Secunderabad. You can travel the 600km odd distance by your own car, or you could take a train (see Hyderabad Shirdi trains) or you could chose the most preferred way, by Bus. There are numerous private operators operating to Shirdi from Hyderabad/ Secunderabad on daily basis. Along with the Bus tickets, most Operators provide the facility to book Hotel rooms.
Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) also runs Shirdi buses from daily basis. With APTDC, you will also get Hotel room in the package. Same day return package is as follows:
Daily departure from Hyderabad at 5pm by AC Volvo coach
Darshan the next day in Shirdi and relaxing in the Hotel room till the departure back home in the evening
Start return journey in the evening (around 7pm) and arrive at Hyderabad by 6.30 am on the third day
Price for this package is Rs.1500 for Adults and Rs.1230 for Children.
Instead, if you want to see some nearby places such as Nasik, Triambakeshwar temple, the return to Hyderabad will be on the 4 th day morning. Price for this package is Rs.1750 and Rs.1430 for Adult and Child respectively.
The hotel accommodation provided by APTDC in Shirdi is not good. It does not even match APTDC standards within AP. They had given hotel for me in Indore Palace. This hotel does not have a restaurant, the rooms are not clean at all. The bed sheets / pillow covers are dirty. If you open the window honey bees will come inside the room. Overall the stay in the hotel was not satisfactory at all.
