Just like ICICI Bank Credit cards, HDFC Bank too has various types of credit cards for your needs. Depending on your profile you may be eligible to get some of those cards. You can check your rough eligibility by visiting HDFC Bank Smart Apply page on their site or by visiting the Credit Cards section.
If you are eligible, you can proceed to apply online. At the end of the application, you will be provided with an application id using which you can track your application status.
A bank representative will contact you soon and visit to verify the documents. Once that is done, the bank will further check for your previous credit report (if any). If that is good, your application will be accepted and your new HDFC credit card will be sent to you over post. The PIN (for use at ATM) will be sent separately (this may arrive either before or after your credit card itself).
How to track your application
You can track your application on the same page where you have applied for a card. I’m not posting the link here as the HDFC site keeps changing quite frequently and links may anytime become non functional. If you cannot find a place to track your status, I can help you if you provide me with the application id and your mobile number in the comments below. Do not worry, as those will be edited out and not published to public. If you still do not feel comfortable, you may message me over at our fb page (like box on the right side of this page). Rest assured, your mobile number will be trashed after I use it to tell your status.
Or, in case you didn’t apply online, you can contact the representative through whom you have applied to know the status or even ask for application id (so you can check status yourself).
From the experience of our users, it takes on average about 25 days to get your application processed (or rejected, as the case may be).
