Border Security Force has recently issued a recruitment notification for 19857 posts of Constable (Ground Duty). Last date for sending the OMR Application forms was 5 November 2010. Admit cards (Call letters) may be sent to all candidates in December (2010)/ January (2011) for the events in the selection process.
Selection will be done through a Physical Standard test (PST), Physical Efficiency test (PET) and a written test.
The first stage of the selection process is the Height Bar test where candidates who are able to jump lesser height will get eliminated.
Qualified candidates will go the next stage of 5 kms race, which has to be completed with in 24 minutes.
Candidates who finish the run with in that time will go on to the PET stage which consists of Long Jump (11 feet in 3 chances), High Jump (3 ½ feet in 3 chances).
Candidates who get through PET, will be called for written test which consists of 100 questions for 100 marks to be completed in 2 hours. Written test consists of Basic Mathematics, General Knowledge, Analytical aptitude, Pattern difference recognition, knowledge of English/ Hindi etc.
The final stage of selection is the Medical Examination conducted by the BSF Medical Board.
