Getting Duplicate/Renew Driving license

If you’ve lost your driving license (Andhra Pradesh) or wish to renew your license, all you have to do is visit the one stop site for any thing related to transport (link removed since online process is temporarily not functioning).

The first section you’ll find there is License. Mouse over that and you’ll see links for ‘Renewal’ and ‘Duplicate’. Select any one of those as you need and proceed with the requirements shown on screen. You will primarily to enter your License Number, Date of birth and License issue date. If you are applying for renewal, you can find these on your license card. If you are applying for a duplicate card since you lost your card, you should contact the appropriate RTO to retrieve your information. If you some how noted it some where, enter those and hit OK. You’ll be shown the details of the License holder which you can verify and proceed for payment.

Current Fee for License renewal is Rs.60 and Rs.200 for Duplicate License (or a fresh license card). Note that these may change at any time.

The new driving license, when ready, will be delivered to your address via Speed Post.

Update: As said above, the online process is at present not functioning. So the only way to get a duplicate license is by going to the concerned RTA and applying there. If your license has worn out, you have to hand it over to the authorities along with the application form.

If you have lost your license and you know the license number, the authorities will search for your name in their database and issue a new license which will be valid for the same period as mentioned in the lost license card. In this case, you have to submit an ID proof which has your name exactly as in your previous license.

In case where the authorities cannot find you in the database, you have to apply for a fresh one, going through the entire process (first LL and then Permanent License).

    • Actually, the online system is not working at present. AP Transport is in works to upgrade the system. When that completes, you can give any address you want the card to be delivered.

  14. Dear Sir,

Please change the spelling of the word “LICENSE” as “LICENCE”. This doesn’t look good. Also, the website address ‘http://210.212.213.83/cfstonline/’ mentioned in your webpage does not take us to licence ‘Renewal’ or ‘Duplicate’ button. This needs to be corrected.

(I am presently stationed at Chandigarh and I am not in a position to come to Hyderabad for renewal of my Driving Licence. Kindly guide me what is to be done in such a case)

    Regards.

    Manoj Kumar

    • My spell checker underlines the word licence but not license. Depending on your part of the world, both license and licence mean the same, permit, authorize etc.
As far as renewal is concerned, last I checked, that WAS the page to renew your license or vehicles registration etc. If the Admins’ of that site change something, we’re not responsible. However, we’ll correct it as soon as possible.
