Airtel recharge through SMS

Here is how to recharge your Airtel prepaid mobile simply by sending an SMS. State Bank of India and its associate banks issue an ATM cum Debit card to all their saving and current account holders using which we recharge our Airtel prepaid number.

Note that you are required to register first at any State bank ATM center. To know how to register, please see recharge mobile using SBI debit card.

After registering and getting a confirmation SMS, you should simply send an SMS in the following format:

Type RC Amount PIN and send to 535.

Where Amount is the top up amount needed and PIN is the PIN of your ATM cum debit card.

Note that premium/standard SMS charges may apply.

The amount which you requested will be debited from your State Bank account associated with that ATM card.

If you’re a Vodafone customer, you can similarly Recharge Vodafone with State bank ATM Debit card.

Either for Vodafone recharge of Airtel recharge using this method, we believe that the SMS request is directly sent to the bank for recharge processing, so your ATM PIN should be safe.
