mChek is the application that Airtel promotes and supports to recharge your Airtel prepaid mobile online. The recharge process is simple and doesn’t take more than a minute, unless there is a delay in the receiving of SMS.
Just visit www.airtel.in and find the link to ‘recharge prepaid’ on the right side.
Enter your mobile number, select the top up amount to be recharged with, enter the phone number that has to be recharged or leave the field blank if you are recharging your mobile, enter the security letter and then submit.
Have your mobile ready as you’ll receive a PIN that you have to enter in the field.
Once entered, select your choice of 6 digit pin and enter it (Remember it or write it somewhere as this will the PIN if you want to transact using mChek in the future).
Next, give your credit or debit card details that includes the number of the card, expiry date, the CVV number and the Verified by Visa/ Mastercard security code (in the next step).
mChek says that all Visa and MasterCard’s are accepted. While that may be true for Credit cards, it is not quite for Debit cards, even though they are Visa branded.
Only those Visa Debit cards given by ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank or Standard Chartered bank will be accepted.
Once everything is done, you’ll receive a confirmation message (you’ll get quite a few actually) on your mobile that the recharge has been done.
