Vodafone launches mobile App store for Java Symbian Android & BB phones

Airtel already has AppCentral, the app store for its mobile customers. Now, the second biggest operator, Vodafone too has one Mobile Application Store for its 14.5 crore subscribers. Users having Java, Symbian, Android and BlackBerry phones can access the App store on Vodafone Live and choose their favourites from over 10000 apps. Comparatively, Airtel currently offers nearly 71000 apps on its AppCentral store but most of them are limited to Java phones.

Any how, that is understandable since these stores are mainly targeted at Java phones since Android and BlackBerry users already have dedicated App stores (Android Market and BlackBerry App World respectively).

One huge advantage of using these App stores provided by Mobile Companies instead of their OS creators (even for Android and BlackBerry users) is that you can purchase App with a single click and the applicable cost will be debited from your balance (if prepaid) or added to your monthly bill (for post paid users).
