Sure Videocon D2H may be the last one to enter the DTH arena but it certainly did gain valuable market share kicking back some ‘big’ time players. May be Abhishek Bachchan worked or its plans worked, Videocon D2H certainly did well till now.
And now, it is leading again, in the HD arena. Sun Direct may be pompously advertising that it has the largest catalog of HD channels but most of them are the channels that you wouldn’t have even watched a single time previously.
It is Videocon D2H that has maximum number of watchable HD channels with 1080i resolution (there’s little difference between 1080i and 1080p, but 1080p is a bit smoother to watch for its progressive processing technology). You may be watching the current India Vs England series and it is only Videocon D2H where you can get both Star Cricket and ESPN channels in True HD formats (the only other DTH player to have HD sports channel is Tata Sky, broadcasting Star Cricket HD).
Coming back to Videocon D2H, it has the following HD Channels in its current catalogue, Star Plus HD, Star World HD, Star Cricket HD, ESPN HD, Star Movies HD, Star Gold HD, Movies Now HD, Discovery HD, National Geographic HD, Travel XP HD, Active Music HD and Active 3D HD. Except the last two, the remaining 10 channels are probably the channels you watch on a daily basis.
The best thing is, there will be no ads in any of these 12 HD Channels.
