Forget Rs.10 coins introduced by RBI Last year, in a short while from now, you will see Rs.150 coin introduced by the Finance minister. On the occasion of Income Tax Department completing 150 years of its existence in India, Finance Minister, Mr.Pranab Mukherjee will introduce a Rs.150 coin before the Budget speech.
The coin, made of Silver, Bronze and Nickel will have the words ‘Satyameva Jayate’ and India in the front and Chanakya and a picture of Honey bee sitting over a Lotus at the back.
Along with the Rs.150 coin, a new Rs.5 coin will also be introduced. There have been various problems with the latest Rs.5 coin which was very light in weight being mistaken for a 50ps coin. The new Rs.5 coin will probably weigh a little more and will have rough circular edges like the earlier versions.
