Serving hot food is nothing new in Railways. Thanks to IRCTC, you can now even book your food along with your ticket. But consider this, food serving in a Bus. Yes, you will now have the option to book your favourite travel food when you travel in an APSRTC VOLVO/GARUDA bus next time. As you may understand, this is only available in long journey travels, such as those buses from Vizag to Hyderabad, Tirupati and Chennai.
The Corporation has pilot tested this service in the above routes and it seems people are impressed by this new offering. Upbeat by this, APSRTC has decided to implement this through out the state. The food ordered will be packed in a hot container and will be served as and when the passengers orders to. At present, you can find Idly, Chapati, Veg fried rice, Curd rice, Pulka’s and Chicken Biryani in the menu.
If this gets widespread acceptance, your bus travel time will be cut short as you’ll not be required to stop for a dinner or breakfast at a highway dhaba.
But, be sure to hold your plate tight; you know very well what could happen if a sudden brake in engaged.
