EAMCET 2009 engineering/medicine web/online/mock counselling dates and details, college selection tips.
Once you have your EAMCET rank in hand, the next step is to decide the college to be joined well before the counseling begins. It is better to attend mock counseling sessions to have a rough idea about the college you would get. KAB consultants conduct such sessions every year in Hyderabad and they will help you to choose the best college in your field of interest for the rank you’ve secured.
It is always better to put the college ahead of the branch since these days students from all branches are being allowed to appear for campus recruitment. So regardless of whether the student is from ECE or CSE or IT or EEE or MEC, companies allow students to participate in the recruitment process. Obviously a good college will bring in more companies than an average college to conduct campus recruitments which increase the chances of you being placed.
However, if you have an aim to achieve something and go for higher studies, I would recommend you choose your Branch of Interest and then try for the best college in that field. If the best college isn’t available then there is no harm in moving on to the next best as all we want is to learn basics for your future endeavors (MS/PhD). Visiting colleges and asking students also helps in the selection of college.
It’s better to have 4-5 colleges in hand as you will be not sure how many seats will be filled before your turn comes on the counselling day.
Once you have the list of colleges in hand all you have to do is to wait for the counseling dates to be released by JNTU which will be published in all leading news papers.
Look for your day and keep all the documents ready. The list of documents includes:
- 10th and Intermediate marks memos and/or pass certificate.
- Study certificate from class 6 to Intermediate to determine your local status.
- Transfer certificate from your School and college.
- Caste certificate issued from recognized body.
- Income certificate of your parent.
- Proof of residence for 10 years in case of Non locals and
- The counseling fee in the form of DD or money (as mentioned in the advertisement in news papers).
On the counseling day, at the center there will be huge boards displayed showing the up-to status of the seats being filled in every college. A student can be accompanied by only one other person inside the counseling hall. There you have to under go the formal process of inspetion and validation of certificates.
Even if you miss one or two documents you need not panic as the officials will write them as ‘not submitted‘ which you can submit in the college which you select.
The last step will be the actual college selection stage where you need to tell the official your college and branch of Interest which will be marked and will be final. You can ask the official about the colleges and other facilities in that particular college as they will have all information about colleges.
Once you made your choice, your Engineering/Medicine life begins which you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
If you are not happy with the college you selected, remember that there are 2nd and 3rd counseling sessions that you can use to shift to another college.

sorry to say, that it is highly impossible for u, to get a medicine seat for that marks. my best suggestion is to go for long term as the competition level in BiPC has declined drastically to the base & u can definitely get medicine seat in good university.

Ranks will probably be announced tomorrow instead of scheduled date of 21st. So instead of guessing, I recommend you to hold your patience till tomorrow. With 125 marks you will easily get into CBIT in a branch of your choice.

Hello Sir, My sister got 979/1000 in IPE in groups 596/600. She got 109 marks in EAMCET. WHat rank she can expect. She is OC from NU (Nagarjuna University) region. Please suggest a good college with hostel facility that has campus placements. Does she get into CBIT/VASAVI/SRINIDHI/GURUNANAK/KLCE/SRKR colleges. Whcich coolege is best. We are lloking the branch in the below order ECE, CSC/IT,EEE,MECH.
We’re talking about a rank near 5000.
Why did you place Gurunanak in that list of CBIT,VASAVI and Sri Nidhi. Gurunanak is isn’t that A grade college as far I know.
CBIT is difficult and there may be chance in Sri nidhi and Vasavi for EEE but not ECE since you’ll be a non-local here I guess? Why are you looking at Hyderabad colleges when there are colleges like Bapatla engg colg and RVR & JC in your region?

You will get a rank between 6500-7000. You can try Sri Nidhi, Vasavi, VNR VJIET, MGIT and possibly CBIT for CSE since you have BC reservation.

If you can manage a rank that you said, you surely WILL get a seat in ECE/EEE in JNTU Kakinada, AU and CBIT (ECE in AU is a bit skeptical but EEE is guaranteed in all the 3 colleges)

All the 3 colleges that you mentioned are arguably in the top 10 private engg colleges in AP. So I would say that you may not get a CSE seat in those colleges.
