Unable to download Apps from Nokia Ovi Store

Okay here is one weird problem that I facing with the Nokia 5800 XM from few days. When I download some thing (Apps, games, themes.. any thing) using the Ovi store App, the download gets started, goes to 100% and then it says ‘Download failed’.

I can only imagine one ‘Major incident’ after which this started happening and that is the firmware upgrade. In Feb this year, I upgraded from V30 to V40 (Type: RM 356).

This is not a big issue as I could any how visit the store using the phone browser (store.ovi.com) which looks exactly same as the App. But the problem is, the Ovi store App (which I think is bundled with V40 firmware) pops up often while browsing the store using the browser.

Deleting Ovi store App?

I tried deleting the Ovi store app but it doesn’t work. There are 3 things related to the Ovi store in the Application manager, Ovi store, Ovi store launcher and Ovi store client. I can delete the Ovi store and Ovi store launcher but can’t do the same with Ovi store client. The App manager says it deleted Ovi store client too, but it still remains there.

So when ever I browse the store using the browser, the Store App pop’s up and I have to close it every time.

Reinstalling the Ovi store doesn’t work and neither do reinstalling the firmware.

I also can’t say that this could be an issue with firmware as I don’t see ‘Many’ complaints on the web.

Btw, do any one of you having this issue also have the home screen Email notification issue (where a blank clickable bar appears instead of email notifications when in shortcut mode)?
