If you are looking for a way to change the User agent string (UA String) for the Chrome lite Browser in your Android device, here is how you do it.
Open your stock browser and type about:debug and tap Go. Nothing would happen at this stage. Now go to settings of your browser and scroll down to the bottom. There you will find various extra options like Show Javascript console, Single column rendering, Wide viewport, Enable tracing/ light touch/ nav cache dump etc along with UAString. Tap on UAString and you’ll have 3 options, Android, Desktop and iPhone. Select any one and you’ll browser will act as one of them hence forth.
Note: This was tested in Android version 2.1
For those who are using froyo (version 2.2), can directly type about:useragent in the browsers’ address bar, hit Go, go to settings and then select the User Agent string that you want.
If you wish, you can check your new User Agent string by visiting whatsmyuseragent.com from your mobile browser after changing the string.
