If it is February, you can expect the BSNL JTO 2010 notification (Junior Telecom Officer) any time from now. Considering that the 2008 and 2009 JTO Notifications were released in the month of February, you can expect the same to happen this year too.
BSNL 2010 notification preview
Since the notification is still to come, lets take a look at the previous two notifications (the eligibility remains the same).
In 2008, BSNL announced the JTO recruitment notification to fill 3591 vacancies. And in 2009 BSNL JTO notification, the number of vacancies were 3945.
To be eligible for the written test, the candidate must be over 21 years of age and be less than 30 years. Age upper age limit is relax able by 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
The total vacancies under JTO were divided into JTO Telecom, JTO Civil and JTO Electrical.
For JTO Telecom, one must have an Engineering/Technology degree in any of the following streams Electronics, Telecommunications, Radio, Computers, Electrical or Information Technology.
For JTO Civil, one must have a Civil Engineering degree.
For JTO Electrical, one must have an Electrical Engineering/Technology degree.
Note that Candidates who are in their final year can also apply for the written test provided that the said educational qualifications will be attained by the end of the year in which the notification was released (or by that date as decided by the management).
For example, for the 2010 notification, candidates who are in their final year engineering in 2010 can apply, if they get their Degree’s by the end of 2010 (or by that date as decided by the management).
Application should be sent to the CGM’s of respective Telecom circles. See this article for BSNL JTO Application form.
An All India competitive written exam will be held in the month of April/May. Selected candidates will be called for Interviews.

Hello guys, there is a good news for all of you. The notification for BSNL JTO recruitments are out by the month of october and the exam is in febraury. It is confirmed. As i met DGM of Karnataka state., he told me, BSNL recruits 4500 jto officers in this year. If u have any questions regarding BSNL jto, you may contact DGM of karnataka state. The name of the dgm is SEENAPPA TARASE. he is the senior officer in karnataka circle. I m giving u his number i.e [removed for privacy]. But i request you to call him after 6 pm.
So good luck to you guys, prepare well for jto exams. As the cutoffs may be high.

As per the new staffing norms of BSNL more than 7,000 JTO’s are surplus. Hence there will be no outside recruitment until new vacancies are created due to expansion of BSNL network OR due to mass retirement/VRS/CRS of BSNL executives which ever is earlier.
don’t you know that 60,000 employees of bsnl are going to retire by 2013.

books according to the syllabus and the level of jto is good so stick to the basics and prepare all topics given in the syllabus as there is cut off for both section. also GS portion has the separate cutoff prepare it well

Cracking bsnl jto not going to be that easy, apart from the huge competition we need to get away with bsnl employees.Last year around 2695 were selected.And out of these 2695 around 695 (minimum) will not join bsnl. so effectively only 2000 have joined. But 4000 vacncies supposed to be filled by internal candidates never go vacant , these are always filled. Do you understand what i m pointing towards? Look in bsnl 50% jto vac are supposed to be filled from outside and 50 % through internal employees.this is the rule. But bsnl employees are very clever, they will no let outsiders come in.now 2000 outsiders are selected against 4000 insiders.and this is happening every time a notification is out.There was a arguement abt this in bsnl raised by direct recruit jtos of previous years but i told u bsnl employees are clever(shameless). They opposed the vrs scheme by saying that 60, 000 employees are retiring in next 4 years so dont throw them out and now want their retirement age to be incremented.

BSNL is not recruiting candidates for this year becoz the employees are trying to get a hike of 2 years in their retirement age. Govt. of India soon release a notification about this. So after 2 years only they will conduct the exam becoz of no vacancy. I know this is a sad news for all of you but what we can do? Try for other good jobs, Wish you good luck.

If we go by Sushma, you should be eligible for the ‘forecoming’ JTO, which is not expected any time soon. By then, you would complete your Engineering and attain 21 years.
u have to wait for jto exam,i think for all telecom exam…..u can appear in after 1 year means in final year….so u should start preparing for any telecom exam….
whats the deal with sushma……………….i think she got angry because she didn’t get selected in previous jto exams i’m Senior IT Engineer in CMC Ltd. in HYDERABAD. but im basically from punjab . my father is the only person left in home alone becouse my sister in US & BRO in Merchant navy, so i have no choice but to give BSNL JTO & get selected in punjab so that i can take care of my father & for everyones kind information my uncle is in BSNL punjab circle as DGM and he tells me that this year in june or july nearly 6000 vacancies are empty due to volunteer retirement…….so get prepared because this time cutoff is gonna be even higher..best of luck to all of u………….

Yes. Candidates with a Bachelors degree in Computers (Engineering or Technology) are also eligible but require more preparation compared to the Electronics guys.
