From quite some years, there have been clear winners in 100 cc and 150 cc bike segments. In the 100cc, Hero Honda (now just Hero) simply rules with its Passion brand and when it comes to 150cc, Bajaj Pulsar has no real competition (TVS Apache stands in a far second place). But it’s the 125cc segment that doesn’t belong to any one.
Hero Honda currently has Glamour F1 while Honda has its CBF Stunner (and Stunner PGM FI), both of which had quite normal response from the public. On the other hand, Bajaj has been doing some strange things with its range of Pulsar and Discover brands, putting one in to the other’s segment. Discover 135 was in existence from quite some time now, but it also recently introduced Discover 125 DTS-I ExhausTec technology (while also bringing Pulsar into 135 segment and taking Discover in to 150 segment).
And guess what, it seems to have worked for Bajaj, for Discover 125 is now the highest selling 125 cc bike in India for the last quarter (July – October 2011). If you are researching to buy the best bike in 125 cc segment, this stat must surely help you in taking a decision.
