Haha, this is really funny. It’s no secret that the Maharaja Carrier, Air India, probably has the least good looking cabin crew (flight attendants), with most of them over-aged, at the final stages of their flying career. Now, news is making rounds that in a recent brainstorming session, the Air India authorities have identified two important factors that can improve its image among travellers, one On time arrival/departure and two, in flight passenger experience.
Leaving aside On time performance aside for a while, authorities have identified (finally) that by utilizing the services of young cabin crew instead of oldies, they can lure some categories of passengers to their flights.
Generally in private operators, the younger one’s do all the in flight jobs and elder ones’ take care of the ground duty. But for Air India, elder ones rule every where.
About 1000 young candidates are currently under training and when they are done with training, they will storm all possible AI flights for your delight. AI is also considering imposing a maximum age limit for flight attendants, something in the range of 40-45 years..
But might I add that getting in your younger ones will be off little use if you make them wear age old sarees’? (with all due respect to our culture)..
