Videocon mobile phones review (Dual Sim, touch screen, music)

by Sriraj on November 9, 2009

The wait is over. There has been a long talk about Videocon entering the mobile phone market and today it has comes alive. It has started its services in Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh and Pondicherry and will expand to many more states in coming days.

As like with any new entrant these days, Videocon too has special emphasis for Dual Sim mobiles. Videocon V1750 Dual Sim Touch screen mobile is just made for those who are in search of a ‘quality Dual Sim mobile’ (take a special note on ‘quality’ there).

Apart from Dual Sim mobiles, it categorized its products into Touch phones, multimedia phones, camera phones, Music phones and colour FM phones.

The Touch screen category currently has 2 models, one is V1750 which was already reviewed before and the other is a nice Smart phone, V 2950. It runs on Win Mo 6.1 (Boy, 6.5 is already released and Videocon is still stuck at 6.1). This one has everything starting from camera with LED flash, push email, wifi capability, GPS navigation, touch screen with handwriting recognition etc. If anything was missing, that was support to 3G network. It’s priced at Rs.18995 which is slightly over priced according to us. If you don’t need the push email function and will be happy with manual retrieval, your best bet will be choose Nokia 5800 for Rs.13500, which also has 3G function in addition to all the features that V2950 has (It also works on a more rugged S60 5th edition)

If you are a music buff, you could choose the V1604 mobiles priced at Rs.5595. This one is also a Dual Sim (Dual GSM) with Dual stand by option and has got 3 loud stereo speakers for you to play your songs aloud.

one personal request of mine is ONIDA is a branded company i hope it will remain the same for longer but when compare to other mobile i sad to say this , (1.we are unable to see the call log while speaking to some one,2.speake volume is not adjustable , 3.once we are spoking through sim 1 the second sim 2 becomes zero it means switched off )please ignore if i write anything undefined if ONIDA can improve the same no phoe can be comparable in all respects as i said ,
