Before I get into the point, it would be diligent on my part to make my stand clear on which party I admire (this is un fortunate but if you are from AP, you will understand why this is necessary). I admire seeing Congress party at the center and Lok Satta in the State.
AP electronic media channels review (channel wise)
TV9
The channel that is most watched ever since it was launched and still continues to be the leader. I like the founder Mr.Ravi prakash and his thoughts on the society. In a recently concluded charity show organized by the film fraternity (to collect funds for the floods) that was sponsored by TV9, the words that Mr.Ravi Prakash spoke at the end were really inspiring. TV9 as a channel also displays few worthy things in between programs like the need to curb the community link to politics (Kulam godalni kulcheddam) and the need to nationalize the factionist’s illegal assets. It has really good presenters to add to the favourites list (Update: There has been some jumping of presenters to Sakshi TV of late. Why would I do that if no body is going to see me at all even though I am offered a hefty pay package? At least not even half of the people that used to see you if you were on TV 9 are seeing you now in Sakshi. That’s the power of money I guess).
What I don’t like is the way that the channel displays certain things, may be to raise the TRP ratings (I don’t know) or something else. For example, if there is any news on any scandals (X rated), that unfortunately becomes ‘breaking news’ for TV9. And telecasting of that clip (without even blurring the faces in the video) never ends virtually.
Also, their reporters are found to be making too much nuisance at times disturbing the proceedings at any vital work (read, the recent incident where a boy was trapped in a boring well, where the reporter tries to get hold of the proclaine driver hindering his digging work, and this is just an example).
TV5
I used to watch this channel before but not any more ever since they ‘broke’ the in famous news on YSR’s death. That was really pretty dumb reporting by a News channel. I was really shocked seeing that, as that wouldn’t have happened if there was at least a single guy in their team who had good knowledge on websites. Also the way they behaved after the incident was pretty sick too (I must say, similar to politicians, claiming it was an insult to the entire electronic media which it wasn’t. It was an insult to TV5 and its reputation).
You just can’t AIR any non sense news and ‘demand’ not to take action against you as a result of its repercussions’.
Otherwise, this is a decent channel famous for its Business news in the morning.
NTV
I believe that this channel has a lot of potential but is just not able to come out of the shell. Going back to that incident of reporting the reason for YSR death, NTV too was one of the channels that followed TV5, but I believe that was just out of bad intentions of cashing on the TV viewership at that time.
Where this channel is lagging behind, inspite of having good liquidity on hand and great technology is the lack of good presenters (Yeah, unfortunately news presenters are becoming a sensation of late).
Update: Slowly but surely, one can easily sense where this channel is heading. That recent tour of Jagan was more ‘Breaking’ in NTV than in Sakshi itself. And the reason behind it is anybody’s guess. My god Where are the standards?
Yet another channel that joins my ‘never watch’ list of channels.

According to me HMTV’s the best news channel..
The channel has English as well as Urdu news bulletins. The channel shot to fame with its innovative show called “HMTV AP Dasa Disa” which is being aired every sunday live from 5PM until 12 in the midnight (IST) which holds discussion on the current situation of Andhra Pradesh. The program has been a super hit which helped the channel to beat channels like I News, Sakshi TV and NTV in terms of TRPs.
and also the channel recognized for its perfection on breaking and not hyping any waste issues like celebrities personnel life. it is a rare quality among telugu news channels. and this is only channel which concentrated on tribals in ap. this channel not telecasting any crime remaking stories and vulgar stories. police beat is title of the crime news in channel which gives perfect info on crime without hype or false news. A news channel which doesn’t show an regional disparities and which doesn’t support an Political Party.
I agree with my friends. Present situation all medias are paid news it display.This is not good and also almost all news are not covered for human resources.
You are a full-to cast-maniac who only watch TDP channels and claim yourself to be unbiased. The reasons you gave for not watching TV5, and NTV tells your intentions. C’mon boy, don’t fool around. Accept that you belong to that Yellow-gang.

Well, that was written in 2010 and I’m still not watching either of these channels that you mentioned, but not for the reasons you guessed. When I wrote this article, there was ‘too much’ YSJ noise in both of these channels and hence have stopped watching them. Now even if I want to, I can’t, since neither of them are present in my DTH, baa, who cares. If you care, can you tell me (Mr.Truth) if they behaving the same way as they were before?
I request all the news channels not to create sensation of criminals news for the sake of trp’s , especially tv9.

Because I do know and watch telugu new Channels, as every one knows that now the news is tottaly paid news. There is no real news in the channels there are plenty of issues to raise and media should talk and being with Public and try resolve the issues and make a things happen to the society. Media should feel the social responsbility like every people are responsibility to there lives. Showing news with out being facts in that is also the media problem backing up the people into the wrong way. So, I request all the telugu news channals to be generated pure hearted news for every one which leads to good society. Keeping slogans don’t seems be like that doing things can believe.

feel shy that i’m living in such bledy political society that no one has responsibility
to protect our Public Proprty Resources.
I like earlier politians(leaders) very much that they ruled & lived for the Society development(Country) and they had not utilize the common people for their personnaly.
Presently many of the politians(feels Leaders but Selfishers) utilizing the common
people for their own personnal(but they are treating us as helping).
Actually, what i’ve to say is, Some bledy idiots destroying the buses, poll-Lights,shellers and the costs of bus charges,taxes,payments will be increases.
My suggestions to all the News media, that implement a programs that what a common
people loosing the public Property resources and getting goods(human needs) expenses
increase by destorying(smashing) the public resources(like Buses vehicals,Lights,..). If
the buses destroyed, bus charges will increaseed, gradually transport & home needs
expenses also increase(i.e., Cost of living gets problems for us)
Here Public property was destroyed by the bledy idiots(they feel herosiam) but the
pressure (cost expenses) increase on the common people. And the common people doesn’t take responsilbility to protect the public resource from them, they watch the scen like a movie. I had a situation like this infornt of me and had tried, but no use…
Please, i’m requesting the news channels, to give us a teach, if we loose public property(destroying) then what the problems have to face the common people…

i agree with you but tv5 has telecast as it is there in the website they are also saying from starting that this is not there own news but it was taken from some website so we can’t blame that channel for that .It so decent and no.2 in telugu after tv9 as koushik said tv9 started earlier to these channels so it is no.1 otherwise no.1 place may be some other channel
My thoughts are exactly the same. But I would say that the only reason why TV9 is successful and still leads the race is because it had the first starter advantage. It started first when there were not any news channels and now it has grown to many other states in India.
Regarding TV5, the presenters should have been kept in the cell for a little longer. It was utter nonsense news. Right from the start of that program I was saying ‘do these people have something in them or not’ and what happened after words was very correct. I don’t know if TV5 was made to pay for the losses that Reliance got. IMO, they should have been forced.
If someone came and broke the glasses of their office, they’ll scream ‘Media ki avamanam’ the whole day. Rubbish.
