Well, first of all congrats to Tata Docomo for being hugely successful in implementing their revolutionary call rates. Also news is that Tata Docomo has seen the highest number of new subscribers on a month on month basis in which Airtel was the leader for years. Really, fantastic opening by Tata Docomo.
I’ll review the SMS offers of Tata Docomo here (If you are unsure what I’m talking about, you can read the Tata Docomo review here first)
At present Docomo has presence in Tamilnadu, Orissa, AP, Kerala, Karnataka, Mumbai, Maharashtra & Goa, MP, Chattisgarh and Haryana.
The normal SMS rates are as follows:
Local SMS: 60ps
National SMS: Rs.1.20
International SMS: Rs.5
However, as an introductory offer, it has some irresistible SMS offers for you.
Like for example in Tamilnadu, you are charged 60 paisa each for the first 3 SMS and then you get 750 local SMS free for the day to any network.
In AP you are charged the same amount for first three SMS’s but only (or still?) get 150 free local SMS’s for the day.
Mumbai, Maharashtra & Goa- 100 free local SMS each day barring first 3 SMS’s.
Karnataka – 100 free Local and NATIONAL SMS per day barring first 3 SMS’s.
For the rest of the circles covered, Tata Docomo has a Recharge voucher of Rs.30 by which you get 600 Local and National SMS’s with a validity of 30 days.
If you are a Twitter addict and want to similarly send short SMS (but here with a maximum character limit of 15, call it mini-twitter), you could opt for the diet-SMS where you pay 1ps per character.
You can use diet sms from either the SIM services option or download the application from the Tata Docomo Dive-in WAP portal. Read about Tata Docomo GPRS and WAP portal settings.
Just say ‘ILU’ to your darling before sleep and pay only 3ps
