A 1 week struggle for Docomo SIM card

After a few hiccups and stuck up’s and a lot of searching, I got my Tata Docomo SIM card here in Hyderabad. Apparently I have to say that the marketing is really poor from Tata Docomo guys. SIM’s of say Airtel, Idea, Reliance or Vodafone will be readily available in almost every mobiles shop and for that matter they are also available in our Chand Pasha Pan shop (This Guy and his Pan shop are pretty famous in this Area ). But it’s not the case with Tata Docomo. Where ever I ask, the answer seemed to be pretty obvious, NO TATA DOCOMO.

I asked the same to the ‘social team’ of Tata Docomo on Twitter and they said me to give the address of my locality in Hyderabad to send the retailer details near my area. But this is not the solution. I know how to use twitter and so asked a question there but what about those who do not know about Twitter?

Recently I read in Times of India paper that long serpentine queues were found near the stores where Tata Docomo cards are being sold. And also there are a few hits and butts in the crowd to ‘do the new’. This says two things, one, the demand is immense (congrats Docomo for this) but two, the supply is poor.

I some how managed to get my Docomo SIM yesterday through one of my friend’s friend who works a distributor of various SIM cards.

The problems didn’t stop there. When I tried to recharge it near a local store (thank god that at least recharge options are available at almost all local stores and even with my Chand Pasha), the network was so busy that the recharge wasn’t successful. Since it was a network problem it would be the same with others too. The next day too, I had to wait for half an hour to get my recharge done, again due to network issues. Some people questioned about the network, no such issues till now. My network signal is always complete filled.

At last my recharge was successful and there is my new ‘life per second’.

Previously, I said I’m quitting Airtel (Which I admire so much, even now). But no, Airtel has come up with RC 141 which gives out standing calling rates and SMS offer’s and so now I’m looking out for a nice Dual SIM mobile phone to put both the charms that I have (Docomo  and SMS offer’s and so now I’m looking out for a nice Dual SIM mobile phone to put both the charms that I have (Docomo mainly for STD purposes and I hope the Introductory offer of 1p/s stays for ever)
