TATA DOCOMO launches GSM services in Hyderabad, Andhra pradesh.
If you are a frequent reader of this blog, you should have read my initial thoughts on TATA DOCOMO GSM after it was launched.
But the service wasn’t launched in my home town Hyderabad at that time and I was desperately waiting for it to happen. And today, the day has come, as DOCOMO is officially launched in Andhra Pradesh.
Its features are unique and never heard of in Indian Telecom history.
It’s simple, don’t pay for the unused. You talk for 1 min 32 sec, you only pay 92 paisa (60+32 s) and not 2 rupees. So it’s a 1 second pulse and not a 60 second pulse as you would see elsewhere.
As a promotional offer, DOCOMO also offer national calls (STD) at the same rate as local calls, i.e 1 paisa/sec which effectively means 60 paisa per 1 minute and that too without any pre-recharge with any voucher.
For those who love and live on SMS’s, here is a great offer. Now there is no need to pre-recharge with 45 or 55 Rs vouchers to get SMS rates at 2 paisa or 10 paisa.
You just pay for the first 3 SMS’s in a day and get the next 150 SMS free for the day. This offer is for the customers in Andhra Pradesh but if you stay in Tamilnadu you got even bigger offer. You pay for the first 3 SMS’s in a day and get the next 750 SMS free for that day.
And how much does a normal SMS cost you (first 3 SMS in a day)?
Not 1 rupee like other network, it’s only 60 paisa per SMS local and 1.20 rupees national.
The start-up voucher is Rs.49 with life-time validity and of course when some one says life time validity, conditions obviously apply. Here the condition is that you must spend at least Rs.100 in 3 months time.

i use 11 rps message offer for 15 days.. previously it was very nice package but now they are charging 50 paise for starting first sms and then there is no charge for the next sms.. i mean 1 ps/ each sms. my balance is not reducing when i am sending sms. why so? and at last there’s a limit of only 200 sms per day.. i don’t like this service. i want previous service.. plz change it. and nobody is responding properly when i call customer care service.. what the hell is this? previous charges are good.. i am not satisfied with new services.

I am a docomo customer, the docomo network is good but sometimes not receiving signal, i have one small favour when compares to other networks its bad why because in uninor just recharge Rs.38 uninor to uninor 1,20,000 seconds its good, but in our network Rs.50 docomo to docomo just 15,000 seconds see how bad so this is my kind information lot members are changing there networks for this plan only from our network to uninor so take action and change it to for better plan.

Tata Indicom network is ok but docomo net is very poor and unable to make and receive calls when we are in room or hall except we are in open to sky balcony. Please take care of Network. The demand is very more in the area from Akbar Bagh Hyderabad

What defects did you see?
Since you are in Hyderabad, the network shouldn’t be a problem. If you want class, go for Airtel.
If you want to be different and do the new, Docomo is your way.
few months back ( in 2009 ) DOCOMO network was very poor now its upgraded its very good with spacial offers maily 1paisa per second its very very good and ofcorse sms offers is not good but network is perfect

if you are talking about AP, an SMS costs only 60 ps. So first 3 sms’s would be Rs.1.80
@bhargav: the std plans are 1p/sec for the fist 27,000 secs EACH month. After the 27,000 secs are used up, the rate then increases to 2p/sec. each day a tata docomo user will get a number of free SMS’, and this includes local as well as national SMS’!

People are shouting that Docomo network is really bad. If you have no such prob’s in your area then you may want to try docom, else the premier PSU should be the way to go.
bsnl has a better network than docomo as bsnl reaches villages also… docomo being cheaper

It’s not a offer. It’s the very base on which DOCOMO made its existence in India. So it’ll be like that for ever.

DOCOMO isn’t a plan but a different network all together. I guess you are using TATA Indicom now?
To use DOCOMO, you’ll have to have a SIM card of TATA DOCOMO GSM service.
