You have booked for your GRE hoping that you’d get your passport before the test date. The date is approaching but you still don’t know where your passport is. This situation is quite common among Indian students and guess what; even Passport authorities are aware of it. With the advent of PSK’s, it has now become mandatory to book an appointment slot after your complete your online application, but for those who want the passport in less time (but not urgently as in tatkal case), they might find it difficult to find a vacant appointment slot in their preferred time.
To solve this, authorities will now allow students, who have applied for GRE or TOEFL, to directly visit a PSK without the need of an appointment. However, they will have to submit an online application as usual. Proof for GRE or TOEFL test must be shown during offline appointment. Remaining process will be normal as usual involving police check.
Apart from students, various other people can follow this procedure, MLA’s, MLC’s, MP’s (their family members), CEO’s of listed Businesses’ and to those who need to go overseas for Medical emergency.
