Samsung frost free fridge RT35Z review

by Sai on October 9, 2009

There is little or no doubt that the India consumer appliances and durables segment is long time dominated by two Korean companies, LG and Samsung. If one company leads in one segment, the other company leads the other. Together, at this moment they hold more than half the market share in majority of household electronic appliances segment. Not only do they occupy most part of the market share, they also earned the respect of the consumers in the way. And it is surely a difficult task choosing a product between them for the Indian consumers.

One good factor in identifying the worthiness of the product is the BEE rating. Here is a Samsung Refrigerator that is rated 5 star (the highest possible) which not only means better energy efficiency but also decreases the running costs over time.

The model of this Refrigerator is RT35Z (345 ltr) and specializes in Frost free operation.

Most of the Refrigerators from Samsung are seen coming with a cool pack (Samsung’s proprietary technology) that maintains the coolness of the freezer in the case of power loss. The pack contains a liquid which is specially developed by Samsung.

Another special feature that a Samsung Fridge has is the quick cool option, which can significantly decrease the cooling time of the refrigerator where you need some quick cooling.

The chilled bin present just below the freezer can store all your Non-veg items with pleasure :D and not to forget, this model doesn’t need an external stabilizer to control the voltage fluctuations.

The vegetable box at the bottom is very big that can easily accommodate all the fruits and vegetables needed in a week. One significant improvement or rather development is the introduction of the RED coloured LED lamp in the Vegetable box which replicates the natural photosynthesis process that happens in plants due to Sun light which keeps the fruits and vegetables in fresh state for a longer period of time.

I have heard some complaints before, especially from people using slightly older versions of Samsung (BEE rated 4 star) which contains 2 vegetable boxes that the vegetables are being spoiled even after adjusting temperature.

If you are experiencing similar difficulties, this LED lamp should be the perfect solution. I’m not sure though whether you can separately install this setting into your old Samsung refrigerator.

The price of this model is around Rs.22500, which is highly comparable with a similar capacity refrigerator from its Korean counter par.

Hi Viz,

Just wanted to check if your refrigerator ran for around 8-10 hours continuously, before cut-off, for the first time.

Mine is also Samsung RT32Z.

Rg,
Pramod
