Now that the most unfortunate thing has happened for the people of Andhra Pradesh, things are shifting towards the possible next Chief Minister of the State.
In the mean time, K Rosaiah the Finance minister of the state will act as the care taker CM (see update below).
This may be too early in deciding about the next chief minister; news is that talks have already begun in the congress party about the same here in the Secretariat Hyderabad. As a part that it has come to notice that most of the MLA’s have come to a conclusion that they cannot see anybody in the shoes of the legendary YSR except his Son, the Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy. They also say that it can only be YS Jagan who can take the ideas and ambitions of his father to the next level.
One of the Minister is also said to have told that she’ll resign from the minister post if Jagan is not made the Chief Minister.
Now we all know that Jagan is not new to politics. Agreed that this is his first entry into politics but he has been behind the scenes for some time now. Ask anyone in the Kadapa District about YS Jagan and they’ll begin by saying ‘Maa Jagananna….’ (Means my brother Jagan…..). He is also a Shrewd Business man and Industrialist and above all he has got all the qualities that his father has.
The central CWC meeting is scheduled to happen later today to possibly have a talk on this issue. As of now, the people of Andhra cannot imagine anyone other than Jagan as their CM and that the consequences of that not happening can be un-bearable.
The formal entry of YS Jagan into politics earlier this year also happened in a similar fashion where his die hard supporters from all over the state staged shows to support Jagan asking him to enter into Politics.
The congress High command knows all about these and can any time ask YS Jagan to resign from his MP position.
But the big question is, ‘Will Mr. YS Jaganmohan Reddy accept and take the responsibility of carrying forward his father’s dreams?’
Update: Well, a lot of things have happened since 2009. Rosaiah has been sent to Tamilnadu as its Governor, YS Jagan has been sent to Central Jail in a CBI case and Kiran Kumar Reddy has been made the new Chief Minister. And it appears as if he will continue till polls in 2014. A lot of things are yet to happen and almost all of those things circulate around Telangana.
This is how I think things will pan out:
Centre will announce Telangana with Hyderabad; with a proposal to merge TRS with Congress. TRS will obviously accept it. But nothing much will happen in the process to form the new state since the elections are very near.
Congress plus TRS (either pre-poll or post poll alliance) will win most of seats in Telangana.
No matter YS Jagan is released from Jail or not, YSRCP will win most seats in the Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. If YSRCP also agrees to merge with Congress, we will definitely see Jagan out of Jail.
If this is the case, then its a win-win for Congress in both Telangana and Andhra pradesh. Poor TDP, will be away from power for third consecutive time. YS Jagan on the other hand, may become CM of Andhra Pradesh (minus Telangana).
