Philips water purifier review

Philips, Of course. This is the statement that Philips is experimenting on to promote their whole range of home appliances exclusively in this festival season. And here is one of the product, the Philips Water purifier, of course

The model number of this product is WP3890/01 and is called as Pure water Dispenser.

The first thing to talk about is the UV technology which searches and kills all the viruses, bacteria, parasites and other micro organisms that may be present. The Activated carbon segment, on the other hand, aims at eliminating chlorine, cysts and other elements and tries to improve the overall taste of the water.

Another ‘pleasing’ feature, but I’m not sure how useful it is, is that the systems plays a nice music as long as the dispenser is dispensing water. Be cautious not to fly in the music with eyes closed as the water may spill out of the bottle when filled

Since we are talking about the UV technology, this surely requires power unlike the Hindustan PureIT water purifier, which doesn’t use any electricity.

But this equipment is rated at 25watts which emphasizes its low power consumption. When not being used for more than 10 minutes, the UV technology stops working saving you more power.

When using for the first time, the PureFlush option makes it much easy to flush out all chemicals that may be present in the internal pipes or the UV chamber and makes sure that it is ready to deliver Pure water. This also helps when you need to change the filter. It is always recommended that you use the Pureflush option when you change the filter.

The Filter costs Rs.500 and may need to be changed once in every 6-7 months for a family of 4-5 members. Unlike other purifiers, the installation of filter is damn simple and can be done by any one, thanks to its simple Tilt and twist mechanism.

The overall functioning of this product is good enough but one thing you may be disappointed is the after sales service. Unfortunately, this is the same in case of any Philips product. It is very difficult to get hold of any Philips service personnel once you purchase any product. But remember you only need to get to them if you come across any difficulty and since this product functions right out of the woods, there may be very little instances where you need the help of service personnel.
