MTS mobile services now in Bangalore, Karnataka

If you think that the Tata Docomo call rates were cheap, then think again. Systema Shyam teleservices, under the brand name of MTS has launched its GSM services in Bangalore, Karnataka yesterday and guess what their prepaid call rates are?

For the calls made to MTS mobiles, the call rate is just one fourth paisa for 1 second. You heard it right, it’s just 1 paise for 4 seconds. For all other mobiles and landlines including STD calls, the call rate is half paisa for 1 second (or 1ps/2s).

This call rate will be applicable for the first 2 months after your recharge with the First Recharge Coupon (FRC) worth Rs.49.

From the third month onwards, the call rates are 1ps for 2 seconds for all calls made to MTS mobiles and 1ps for 1 second for all other mobiles and landlines including STD calls.

Note: You’ll need a cumulative recharge of a minimum of Rs.200 for every 6 months.

The validity of the prepaid card after the FRC is for lifetime (up to year 2028)

The SMS rates for the first 2 months is 30ps for local and national and Rs.5 for International. After the first 2 months, the rates are 50ps for local, Re.1 for national and Rs.5 for International SMS.

Apart from these regular call rates, if you are a chatter box, you can choose the MCard option which gives a talk time of – hold your breath – 10 lakh minutes for life.

These minutes will be distributed at a maximum of 150 minutes per day.
