Applied for an SBI card and wish to know the status of your application? Here are some ways to get the information you need. Note that on an average it’ll take at least 3 weeks (from the date the bank representative took the required details and documents) to process your request and dispatch the card. Add another one week to receive the card from the date of dispatch. So, there’ll be a gap of nearly (or at least) one month between the application date and the day you put your hands on the card.

Calling is more efficient
Use the IVR system to know your application status. You can call the toll free numbers 1860 180 1290 or 1800 180 1290 from your BSNL/MTNL phone or dial 39020202 (prefix your city code if dialing from mobile).
If you specifically want to know your card status, dial 3 after the IVR starts (listen to it to confirm it’s the menu for ‘Application status’)
Tracking your card through courier
If you’re application has been processed, you’d immediately get an SMS stating that your card has been dispatched by so and so courier (mostly it’ll be first flight couriers) and will give you a reference number. Just visit the respective couriers’ website and enter your reference number to track the movement of your card.
