If you are a customer of State bank of India, the country’s largest Bank, the following are the different ways by which you can keep a check on your account (savings or current) Balance.
If your account has an ATM or Debit card, you can visit any ATM, preferably State bank group ATM (as using other than State Bank ATM for more than 5 times in a month will attract a transaction fee), and check your account balance.
If your account is equipped with Online (Internet) banking, then you can just log in to your account by visiting onlinesbi.com and check your balance amount. If you don’t have Internet Banking with your account, you can apply for one; see SBI Internet Banking login.
If you have a compatible mobile handset (Java or Android, iPhone), you can download and Install SBI mobile banking application and view your account balance and do many more things.
By calling customer care
You can also use the SBI customer care numbers to know about any SBI product or just know your account balance.
Or you can also register for the free SMS alerts to get instant SMS notifications on your mobile regarding your account balance when any transaction happens.
SBI Account statements
If you want to see the list of transactions (statement) that are made in your account in a period of time, you will have to visit the account statement page of your Internet Banking account (log in to your online account, click on the account number and find the ‘Account Statement’ link on the left side)
When you are there, just select the account number for which you wish to see the transactions.
Now select whether you want to see the transactions in a particular month (select By Month option for this) or in a customized period (select By Date for this). You can select a maximum of 6 months period. If you want to get statement for an entire year, you will have to split it into 2 six month period statements.
By month transaction is pretty straight forward. Just select the year and Month and select whether you want to just see the transaction or download in MS Excel/PDF format.
For By Month, click on the image the resembles a calendar and select the start date from which you wish to see the transactions and select the closing date and follow the above process to see the report of download the report.
As with Account balance, you can also get a mini statement at any ATM or from mobile banking app.
Apart from the above methods, if you have a registered your email with your bank, the bank also sends a statement once every quarter with all the transactions and final balance.
