We have seen earlier how to check your policy/premium status online by registering on the LIC of India Website.
But unfortunately, it looks as though people do not have the time to do it themselves and want somebody to do it for them. You can see the comments in the link above, for people asking the status of their policy when I clearly explained the way to check themselves.
Ok, to make it more simple for such people, LIC also has a helpline number ‘1251‘. You can call 1251 to know about everything that your policy is concerned with. It may be to know the Policy status, premium due date, Loan possibility and loan amount possible, time of maturity etc.
Alternate premium paying options
Apart from paying the premiums at the cash counters at LIC offices, policy holders can avail these alternate ways of paying their premium on time.
- Policy holders of Andhra Pradesh can now pay their premiums at any AP ONLINE centers. And similarly policyholders of Madhya Pradesh can pay premiums at MP ONLINE centers.
- Paying through ATM’s: ATM’s of Corporation bank and AXIS bank can be used to pay your premiums and this facility is completely free for all policyholders. However, the policyholders need to pre-register by using the bank’s website.
- LIC online portal payment: This has been explained here.
- ECS payment: Policy holders need to register their policies so that the required premium amount will be deducted from their accounts as and when they fall due.
- SMS payment: Policy holders who are have a bank account in Corporation bank can avail this method. They should register their mobile number at any corporation bank ATM once before using this payment mode.

I have submitted my Policy 600801637 which is due by October 2011. The bonus earned will generally be given during the maturity along with the survival benefit.
If you’ve registered your policy at LIC portal, you can see how much your policy has accrued bonus till date.

Dear Sangita, There is no money back feature in this policy. It is a ULIP plan of LIC of India named market plus I and is a good plan to invest in with one of the minimum expenses in the life insurance industry and is having a LOCK IN period of 3 Yrs. from the date of commencement of policy i.e. any time after 3 yrs u can have withdrawal from ur policy , currently u own 2085.806 units @ rate of Rs.13.8436 and maturity period is of 18 yrs. but u may withdraw it any time after 13/04/2013.thnx. hope it’ll solve ur query. for more queries contact 09303215359 or mail me at gurdeeplic at hotmail dot com
