Andhra Pradesh may still not have the EPIC coverage like the states of West Bengal, but its CEO is just as good as any other CEO’s. You may already know that for any future elections, the official voter ID card given by the Central Election Commission (called as EPIC) is mandatory. No longer any other ID’s will be accepted in its place.
For the upcoming General elections, new voters can register themselves online, if they are over 18 years of age. In the process, one needs to fill the required information, upload their photo in the size mentioned and get their temporary application ID; which they can use to track their application status. In due time, election officials will verify the information and add your name to the latest voter list in your constituency.
You can also make corrections to your card, if any, online. The process is similar to applying for inclusion of your name in voter rolls.
Polling booth address
Before the elections, one can search for their name and also know the polling booth allotted for them to cast their vote. For this, one needs to visit the CEO Andhra site and search for their name. The easiest way to search is by using the EPIC number; since its unique to every one. If you don’t yet have your EPIC, you can search by selecting your district, then constituency and then entering your name and selecting gender. If you can’t find your name, its best to select ‘Anywhere’ instead of ‘Starting with’ or ‘exact’ since it will broaden your search criteria.
Once you locate your name, you’ll know more details as on official records, such as your age, house number, ID card number, Father/Husband’s name, Part number and polling station name, Polling station (polling booth) address and also serial number in part (this helps the election officials to quickly locate your name when you go for voting). If you need, you can also print your information from the results and this will act as a replacement for an EPIC.
