The campaigning for the first phase of elections has been concluded in Andhra Pradesh. The first phase of polling will take place on 16th of April from 7Am to 4Pm. The second phase of polling will take place on 23rd April 2009.
If there is anyone who still didn’t get their voter ID card can use other ID proofs such as Ration cards, passport, driving license, electricity bills etc only if their name exists in the electoral role.
To check whether a name exists in the electoral roll, please use this website.
Voter addition is a non stop process and hence new names are added all the time. New lists are always being uploaded.
Unfortunately, if your name doesn’t exist in your ward list before 1 day of election date, it means that you cannot vote this time. But, if you’re eager, you can still visit the booth and enquire about your name with the booth level officer.
During the time of election, GHMC will arrange a website using which you can even know your polling booth. Or else, you can know the same using the below methods:
Alternative you can also SMS CEO <voter ID> to 56677
You can also SMS HNO <Your house number> to 56677
A reply would come with your polling booth address very soon should your name be in the electoral list.
Update: The information above is primarily related to 2009 elections but you can still use it to get to know about the conduction of future elections. The SMS (which are not free) may or may not work in the future. New methods to check voter names and polling booth addresses will be updated here as and when announced by the Chief Election Officer of AP.
